Lorne: Take care of yourself and ah, make sure fluffy is getting enough love. Gunn: Did he have anything? Fred: No. And who's fluffy? Are you fluffy? Gunn: He called me fluffy? Fred: He said make sure…wait. You don't think he was referring to anything of mine that's fluffy, do you? Because that would just be inappropriate.

What is even happening?

It's clear Wolfram doesn't like the idea of combining Whitefont land and Lite Land. How do the other Spoiler lite folks feel?

I believe Jon B agrees with Wolfram. See post #4936.

Deena says (see post 4918) that she likes Brenda's #2 suggestion, which reads:

Thread 2) Traditional (as I currently seem to understand it) Lite content is fair game. This means: Ep titles, writers, casting changes, possibly TV-guide type ep summaries. All else is white font, all white font labeled as to both show, and type of content. (post 4915).

In post #4940, Sophia said:

Now-- I loved spoilers lite, but I do have to say I think it was a pretty small community-- me, sumi, Jon B. are really whaty I remember-- so I am not sure that traditional "lite" thread will serve the needs of the most buffistas.

I don't see Sophia's comments on whether she'd like something like what Brenda proposed in #2.

In post #4942, Laura said:

Lite: Probably more people read the thread than contributed because it functioned as an annoucement thread. Personally I felt that the matters that ended up in this thread were ok whitefonted in the general discussion thread, but I respect that the virginal need protection.

An all white font all the time labeled thread could be fun with creative use of the spoiler font, but I don't know how long it would be before the novelty wore off.

She didn't specifically address Brenda's twist on the proposal, in that post. Later, in post 4954, Laura broke it down for us again, thusly:

Ho Heaven - All the spoils and discussion in the open with no whitefont.

Whitefont World - Users can pick and choose their personal level of spoilage utilizing clear labels. All spoils allowed with proper warning and spoiler font.

Lite Land – Refuge where there is no risk of plot spoilage. For discussion of casting changes and low level general spoils and speculation.

While I have no personal fear of thread proliferation it does seem (to me) that 3 spoiler threads are too many. Personally I can see WW and LL being combined, but I am sympathetic to those who fear irreversible spoilage that can result from a font error.

Lee (which of course you, being Lee, know this, but others might be interested) said in post 4944:

[quoteback ref. in ital] it sounds like the situation that fits the most needs is one hardcore no-whitefont thread, one all whitefont and labeled as to showand spoiler type.

I vote for this, with the addendum that the second whitefonted thread would be the place for unwhitefonted lite spoilers.

I know that this won't please everybody, but really, we could add 15 threads and not please everybody. This seems like the best compromise.

In various places, ita seemed to prefer this as well--one fully open, no holds barred spoiler thread, and one thread with all white font and labels.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My basic position is a desire for hard core yet whitefonted spoilers to have a thread.

However, if that's to be spoiler thread #3, nope, nosirree.

What is even happening?

I agree ita. Three threads is just overkill. I'm trying to work this out in my head, how we might both poll and vote (per Kat's comments) on this issue, in the same ballot. I'm really groggy though.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

However, if that's to be spoiler thread #3, nope, nosirree.

Under my suggestion, there would only be two. I don't know if it will fly, but that is the suggestion.

What is even happening?

Based on what I was able to catch in my post #4977, I am going to suggest the following ballot set-up to le nubian. Please (Lee and anyone) make suggestions where I can tighten it, or make things more clear. I'm working on about 3 hours sleep. Please pay special attention to those definition under item two. I need help with the categories, etc.

Suggested draft of Spoiler Threads Ballot:

Item 1: The rules for Spoilers 3: First Mutant Enemy, Now the World (and its successors) should be as follows: The rules are, there are no rules. All hardcore spoilage, all the time. No white font. No apologies.

(choose one)

____ Yes

____ No

____ No Preference

_________________________________________

Item 2: This proposes we open a less heavy spoiler thread, for the more cautious among us.

(Choose ONE)

a) Traditional Spoilers Lite Thread: Guest stars, episode titles, writers, and preview speculation in regular font. Exiting cast, TV Guide and other entertainment articles and their discussion white-fonted.

b) All White Font+Good Labels: All actual content must be in white font. Each item in a post must be labeled (in black font) with show name, and spoiler type.

Spoiler types are as follows:

* Lite (guest stars, episode titles, writers, and preview speculation)

* Plot Spoilers

* Casting Spoilers (regular cast comings and goings)

* Articles (interviews, entertainment press reports, and TV Guide level episode descriptions)

c) Mixed Bag: Lite spoilers (Guest stars, episode titles, writers, and preview speculation) will be posted in black font. All heavier spoilers will be in white font, and labeled with show name and spoiler type (see labels in item 2b).

d) No new thread.

e) No Preference.

more coddling than actual spoilage.

You might want to find a more value-neutral term than coddling.

What is even happening?

I was trying to be cute, not judgey. I will just take it out.

cereal...

Seriously, my definitions, categories, etc., under item two are all incomplete. I need someone else to supply that information. I'm too close to dead, today.

Visilurking

There's no choice for just a Spoilers whitefont thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'd assumed that was covered by the "All White Font+Good Labels:" option.
