Billytea, I loved your description of the signs and whatnot. It's almost as good as anthropomorphized numbers! Oh, who am I kidding? It's better.
Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!
We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!
'Night Sophia, sleep well.
Edited to point out that I got the best number, because the 4 is a kind and gentle soul who cares for everyone and keeps a red cape in his backpack just in case of emergencies.
Which is not to say that 4 is the one true number. No, I think 6 is more capable of handling the political responsibilities of the position.
Woof. Radical interpretation of the text. What's your reasoning seems like a fair way of asking how you're thinking about it.
No.
Not at all. It's not at all a radical interpretation of the text.
What's your reasoning sounds like "you are WRONG, Fucker! Justify your piss-ass self!"
Pardon the ASSCAPS!
I have been too lazy to use the quick edits tonight, so have been ASSCAPPING instead.
I have already stated a hundred times (HYPERBOLE!) my objections to ANY use of JUST THIS ONCE. I don't feel like I have to do so AGAIN.
Because fuck, man, I've done that already. (Also, sorry it was last minute, I've been slammed at work and was gone most of the weekend.)

Hee. I'm glad you liked it. I'd anthropomorphise the voting options, but I'd wind up feeling sorry for 4, the bastard stepchild selling matches in the snow of the numerical system. (6, of course, is all 'let 4 eat cake', carrying the hauteur that comes from being the early front-runner and, after all, perfect.)
Yes, Billy, it's true, 6 is a haughty number, but it's because she's had so much responsibility so young, and handles it with grace. I don't think she'd be rude to 4 though. She'd probably buy a match.
So how are we going to figure this out tomorrow? Are we letting everyone have their say until noon, and then trying to get a consensus out of that?
If that's the case then what was the issue with having a consensus by midnight tonight? I'm only asking because I don't know how to get out of this.
remember when we couldn't talk about low carb diets in Natter. This is what preferential voting feels like to me...
Night all!
Oh-- not good night!
Heather-- I completely see where you are coming from. I think if consensus isn't reached, someone else will have to post the announcement (and actually, if it is at noon someone will anyway because I am in a meeting) because I am not willing right now to take it upon myself when things don't seem agreed upon.
My instinct say that a run-off and never again talking about pref ballots is the answer right now, because unless the no-pref people object to a run-off, the only thing the pref ballot does is save potential wasted time polling twice. So pro-pref people will get the same result with a run-off.
I don't know Heather. I'm hoping that by tomorrow enough (maybe new?) people will come and have their say so that there's a clear mandate, and, maybe, if that doesn't happen, and this is just too sore a spot for people we love and care about, we can just let PV drop for awhile? I hate to say that, because I know it's a sore spot for those who like it, too, but I think those who want to do things in a new way might need to decide if the old needs to be fixed to the extent that others are alienated because of it.

Oh, don't tell me that, I was all set to vote for 6 and now I'm wondering if it's really just a big softy that'll wimp out at the first sign of dissent. Our voting system needs discipline, dammit!
