Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

This is how words wind up with multiple different definitions, presented in a numbered list, isn't it, erin?

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I remember doing that at one point. When we were trying to explain the subtle but key difference between Buffistas' usage of 'wank' and fandom at large's use of same. I like to think ours is the more interesting usage, because it's more specific, and because it can be salutory, and because Buffistas are all special and good.

Dudes. You all have whipped out the Cheese Butt. This should be in Bureaucracy, but Jon, if you want me to update it, let me know. I've got ita's notes taken down.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Feel free to update, Nutty.

Whoops! Lost track of time. I'll post a voting announcement in Press. This thread will be closed in a moment.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Ok, I am brand new at this and might screw it up but here goes --

I propose that we have a politics thread. One that, for those who enjoy the debate of war vs no war, R vs D, etc etc etc, may do so at their leisure and those who want nothing to do with politics can feel free to not be subscribed and/or read.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

No, only death.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I've always thought a politics thread would be a good idea, given that some of us so love to talk about it, while it makes others flee screaming. And with the upcoming US elections, I expect political subjects to come up more and more. It makes sense IMO to corral the topic in one place for those of us who want to discuss it.

That's my rationale, and probably all I'll have time to post, what with everything going on in my life right now....

There might be.

Personally, I like the idea. That way, for those who don't care or don't want to discuss can ignore it the way you sometimes can't in Natter or other threads. I, for one, have enough OCD that I have to read every single post. My bag, I know, but if I wanted to discuss it, it would be easier to catch up in that thread than wading through the regular Natter, etc stuff to find discussion points.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

There's one suggestion I'd like to make. If this passes, I think it should be named something innocuous, like Jets and Sharks, so that the concerns of those who think it possible that Random Googler will come join up in order to flame will be at least partially laid to rest. And I think that the name, oh, style, if you will, should be part of the proposal language.
