Voting Discussion: We're Screwing In Light Bulbs AIFG!

We open it up, we talks the talk, we votes, we shuts it down. This thread is to free up Bureaucracy for daily details as we hammer out the Big Issues towards a vote. Open only when a proposal has been made and seconded according to Buffista policy (Which we voted on!). If this thread is closed, hie thee to Bureaucracy instead!

Each ballot question is tallied separately. The MVT must be freached for each question separately for that particular questions votes to count.
No preference votes count towards the MVT
No preference votes do not count towards whether something gets a majority vote. If the tally is Yes-5, No-4, NP-50, the question passes.

I understand every one of those words. Yet my mind refuses to put them together so they make any kind of sense. I can't believe I ever partook in discussions on these matters. Need some coffee.

And, Bless you, too, Jon! Is this all really in your head, or did someone write it down somewhere?

NEAT. And to think I voted against No Preference counting for MVT. Now, it seems handy.

Wolfram, remember, you have a newborn. We'll forgive you if you don't remember the thrash. Me not remembering the result? No good reason except stress, school and gray hair.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

t Tries to figure out what prompted him to volunteer to count a ballot containing 12 questions. He's not drunk. Maybe he should do something about that...

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Sigh. It's in my head, but I still have Nutty's summary on my 'puter that I really will edit and post someday.

Thanks for all the fish.

It's very handy for multi-decision ballots, where someone might care very much about 1 and 4, but give a rat's ass about 2 and 3.

The newborn's the easy one. It's my other two that are graying me. :)

Also, why are we closing Firefly Quotes? Don't we want to wait for the DVD and then have more deathmatch?

Our wings are not tired.

Bless you DX!

Indeed. I really didn't want to count such an involved ballot!

NP is quite handy. Also, I would be very grateful for the pro and con summary on each issue if someone would be so kind.

Three threads for half a season's worth of episodes. Any quotes can be posted in the main Firefly thread.

But we're still going to have deathmatch, right?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

DXM -- Let me know if you would prefer to receive the votes in any sort of fancy format. My coding options are pretty flexible.

e.g. the subject line could read: YYNP-YNY-YP-:Joe Buffista

where "P" means no preference, "-" means no vote, and the rest is self-explanatory. I'm just brainstorming for something that you could easily parse and keep track of.
