Well, it's like Field of Dreams. Build the thread and they will post. I'm so waffly on this.
Okay then, next question. Is there anyone here who isn't currently posting in Smallville/Farscape/Due South who would anticipate posting in a Fannish TV thread?
Can we just make it the Smallville/Farscape/Due South thread and not explicitly add in any more television allowances? Other than what goes on in there now, informally?
Edited, that is to say, name it such? And also to add, I appreciate the denizens of such threads who are open to consolidation and closing. Yay you, with your betterment of board health attitudes.
Burrell, dude, you must be thinking of the other ita
Glad to hear the universe is not at risk. Chartreuse is terrible for my coloring.
It sounds like the Smallville and Farscape people are willing to let go of their threads, whereas Due South has a bigger investment. Is that right?
the original reason for the smallville thread was that it was taking over natter, correct?
It was taking up a lot of Bitches, but it didn't bother me at the time, because a lot of us were watching SV also.
Due South is a low volume thread but the it covers a broad spectrum and I'm going to be selfish and say that I don't want it to go away
Jesse already said this, but there's always going to be someone, or a few people, who feel very strongly about keeping a thread.
But in practical terms, if a thread is low-volume, and we're thinking of helping the board in terms of server load, then probably the best thing would be to close the low-volume specialized television threads.
I also have no problem closing the Farscape thread, fwiw.
So... amended:
The House Keeping Proposal:
1. The Buffista Corp thread gets closed. Bless its Cafe Press heart.
2. At some point, post-death match that the Buffy quotable thread be closed.
3. The slug for the Previously thread will be changed to add Angel. It's still open whether or not it will say Angel or Angel and Buffy.
4. Change ita's username to adorable fluffy bo-bita.
5. Due South, Smallville and perhaps Farscape will be consolidated in some way.
We are still discussing this. Some possibilities include
closing all three threads.
Rolling all three threads into one and mentioning it's a thread for those three with some catchy Ikea like name.
Closing one thread or two threads only
Not doing anything.
6. Buffy Spoilers Lite will be closed.
7. Change the name of the Buffy/Angel Spoilers thread to "Angel Spoilers"
8. Consolidate PPO and Bitchy Fic. And possibly the Bitches' Anthology. The way it would work would be they would all be closed and archived and a new thread combining all three under a clever umbrella would open.
I like what Liese suggested - combine those three, specifically. It shouldn't draw anyone who wasn't drawn in when each show had a unique thread, and yet the posters still have a home.
4. Change ita's username to adorable fluffy bo-bita.
Can we add a "bunny" in there somewhere?
And possibly the Bitches' Anthology.
I think that could be rolled into there.
I don't want it to go away becuase I can't keep up with Natter..
This is the strongest argument against just rolling all three of them back into Natter, which I think was the least favored option, anyway.
Which leaves us with leaving things as they are, or combining threads.

I think this may be the best suggestion. It accomplishes one of the things that Kristen has mentioned might help with the technical problems, and it keeps the communitites seperate from Natter/Bitches.
Now, I imagine we'll still talk about other TV shows, and a Farscape/due South/Smallville thread would still be essentially a de facto "General TV" thread, it avoids some of the pitfalls of a general TV thread by not adding any new show names for a search engine to hit other than the ones we've already had (it's no more of a newbie magnet that the other threads already were), and by not being too general in proposed scope or name.
