Cindy, we're talking about changing current board policy. I like the way things are in the current NAFDA threads. You don't. I want the status quo, you want change. I suggested a new thread for the purposes of the BCS and it was not even discussed as a viable possibility. Would I reject a "virgins" thread? Hmm. I think that our current NAFDA show threads are basically what the "virgin" thread would become. I don't see the need. But, let's say this vote gets passed and the spoiler policy is changed - I would not be able to go into the NAFDA Angel thread. That's actually okay, I'll discuss in Atlantic Canadians, where we're small enough to decide our spoiler policy with each (regular) poster's spoiler tolerances in mind. I, personally, don't need a "virgin" show thread. But I would not be able to go into Bitches or Bitchy fic, and that I would very much mind, and no show thread would be able to make up for that.

The spoiler policy is about what we can post. Not about how spoiled we can get. If I want to go to spoiler sites or camp out in Joss's back yard, our spoiler policy doesn't actually dictate whether I can or can't.

Just because our spoiler policy says we can't post about something until it's been promoed doesn't mean that all the advance info we're allowed to know can be from the promo.

Very true - but our spoiler policy does dictate how unspoiled a person can remain while reading the threads.

I honestly don't know Susan. I don't. Are we proposing changing/clarifying/dipping-in-chocolate the NAFDA spoiler policy? Getting a new/clarified/amended/fruit-flavoured spoiler policy for the show threads?

We've got a dozen different ideas and proposals flying around. We need Jim to come in here and delineate what his actual voting proposal will be. Because, really, we can discuss all we want, but Jim can come in here and decide that the vote will be -

I thought what was deemed not possible was creating a whole new thread, either for the BCS or for Virgins. I certainly saw a lot of people, myself among them, who were fine with only discussing cast changes in Angel itself, and there's certainly no reason I can see that it wouldn't be possible. All we'd have to do is say, "You can't talk about this in Bitches, Fic, Firefly, etc."

I respectfully disagree. Buffy 1 only gives me the beginning of this past season, so I can't cite examples, but I did cite the musical as something we discussed in NAFDA, and I want to say we discussed Giles's status in S6.

We discussed that there would be a musical. This is true. We did not discuss the casting of the musical.

Or to generalize you can only talk about the particular type of casting spoiler we are legalizing on the NAFTA show thread for that show.

So as you say, Angel casting spoilers only on the angel nafta thread.

(And I know that one of the points is that many of us (me included) don't consider these casting spoilers. But I'm going to save hourse of life and refer to them that way.)

Now, in the absence of Jim, is there any supporter of the general policy change who objects to this modifcation? That is Bitches and so forth remain NAFTA zones, but this particular policy (the allowing of a certain type of casting spoiler) is not allowed in Bitches and so forth, and is in fact allowed only in the NAFTA show thread for the particular show. Or is there anyone who could not live with it if it makes the virgins (while still unhappy with the change) more able to live with it if it passes?
