All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I'm in the midst of A Christmas Carol load-in, so I'm keeping things low key this evening. Take-out sushi and finishing S2 of Slow Horses.

(I have a bunch of wishes for your city too, but you know about those)

And this is much appreciated. I haven't been teargassed yet, but there has been activity within a few blocks. I carry my whistle.

I hate that I love working east coast hours. It’s so much nicer than my usual schedule, where I wake up and immediately have meetings and am frantic to catch up on emails. But I can’t do it from home (would require getting up and going to bed hella early). But when I’m out on the east coast? So nice. Wake up at a reasonable hour, when the sun is up, sit down to computer, catch up on stuff, and THEN have meetings about stuff…

Thrive to spite them

I am back to work today. I was running a little late. I had changed my alarm to go off when I normally take my meds in the morning (which is after I wake up) and turned off the other alarms for vacation. Then forgot to reset them so I was eating breakfast and realized...oh ! Oh I should be walking out the door in 5 mins. And I still needed to shower etc.

It's been busy . But I feel a lot better than I have. Even the co worker who usually annoys me the most wasn't bothering me. I'm hoping this lasts for awhile

hwæt

I voted during my lunch break today!

Also, my boss's boss just emailed us, after getting some clarification about an issue he was harping us about, and said, “Looks like there was some confusion...” Yeah, nice use of the passive voice there.

Our wings are not tired

Jessica that's so cool about the musical. The resident sound engineer at that theatre is a friend and former student of mine!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The resident sound engineer at that theatre is a friend and former student of mine!

Oh, awesome!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I hate that I love working east coast hours. It’s so much nicer than my usual schedule, where I wake up and immediately have meetings and am frantic to catch up on emails.

I've been on the west coast for like three days and the mad scramble to catch up at the beginning of the day is so stressful.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

At a couple of different points in my let's call it a career I worked on east coast time while in California, starting the day at 6 AM to be able to meet with people or whatever. In some ways it was nice, having some afternoon time to run errands before school let out even, or go to my second or third jobs as needed, but in a maybe deeper way, of course, it meant being in the office at 6 am every day and that was pretty rough. I can kind of fake being a morning person for a while if I need to, but really I would like to sleep 16 hours a day and any regular Being Awake schedule is going to be oppressive

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Okay, Midnight Burger people (that's just Jen and -t, I think), I hope you're listening to (or plan to listen to) Welcome to the Horizon, because the S1 finale just did a thing, and then in the middle of that thing, did a THING, and then there's a post-credits scene* that takes the THING and runs with it. O_o

*(Post-credits scene in the sense that the theme music plays for a minute or less, and then the scene happens. There is nothing after the long-ass part at the end where Joe reads all the Patreon supporter names. I refuse to listen to that.)
