Indeed so, brenda!
Well. M messaged me that he thought he saw blood where Penny peed on the floor. Which she has been doing . So she has a UTI. M doesn't have access to a car , I can't leave work , and I can't make an appointment tomorrow. So she's going to a vet that is open until midnight. It's going to be really expensive but they have a payment plan thing .
And I have been bad about giving Penny her thyroid medicine consistently. I need to get her refill (I guess Tuesday when the vet is open) and I asked Mom if she could call or text me in the evening to help me remember to give Penny her meds. It's easier at night instead of adding pill wrangling to my morning routine.
Taking care of yourself is part of taking care of Tim, Tep.I also have a big queue. Don't even really like reality but both Nailed It and the new batch of Queer Eye guys never fail to make me feel a little better. of course I've got recs for crime, sex, and violence too, because sometimes that is literally how I roll. Animal Kingdom makes me think of ita and her wet men page.
Hey, all, CVS has the new COVID vaccines and is accepting on-line appointments. Jim and I are booked for the 7th.
Teppy and askye, my siblings in physical therapy, there is room on the "frelling meatsacks" bench here beside me. (Sprained my right shoulder; my doctor will revisit the idea of my lifting anything heavier than a loaf of bread on October 9th.) Much ~ma to Tim, and yes, dearheart, erika is wise.
Thanks, amyp, possible one benefit of hanging around watching them install the meatsacks bench. contrary to conservative opinion, it hasn't really paid off in any other appreciable fashion.

I will also SUPER emphasize getting the flu vaccine also. [edit: I'm apparently emphasizing it so much I "also"ed twice!] After having it last year, I never want to experience that again.

Crumbling, shoddy, frelling meatsacks indeed. (This reminds me that it's time to put the ice pack back in the freezer.)
I think I sorted out a prescription refill snafu before it became a problem. (My Ativan prescription needs to be renewed once a calendar year, and apparently this is that time of year, as I found when I went to refill it and got a "refill denied" message. Good people of my primary care practice, we're about to launch into my husband's cancer treatment, with potentially bad bad bad side effects [and, of course, no statistical guarantee that he will be cured, although the cure rates are way up in the 90s% and he has many many good things on his side], so I am very much going to need that antianxiety medication refilled posthaste.) I actually called the doctor's office and spoke to a human, and I think the prescription renewal is now awaiting approval from Awesome Doctor.
I also have to take prednisone yet again (I've already taken it at least twice this calendar year, and I really don't like taking it so often) to try to calm down the pain in my hip and quad. PT is already helping in some areas, but it also leaves me in some pain the next day. The physical therapist has been modifying/switching up some of the exercises to avoid the ones causing actual pain, but she also agreed that there's undoubtedly some angry inflammation going on there that steroids could knock down.
Dylan is all moved into his dorm! So far he and his roommate are getting along, if not BFFs. They have some shared interests (same major + theater nerd shit including D&D) and compatible sleeping preferences (cold room, fan for white noise, early risers). The morning after we moved him in, we saw him from across the street while approaching the building, and when we waved, a student on our side of the street turned around and said "Is that your kid? He KILLED it last night at karaoke!" which was very nice to hear.
The other notable moment from yesterday morning was heading into the parent & family orientation when we shook hands with with the VP of Something Involving Students Probably, she turned to me and said "So what's your major?" Upon learning that I was, in fact, the Mom, she turned to Aeryn and asked them instead (lol also no).

So Dylan already has college on lock. Nice!
