Zoe: Nobody's saying that, sir. Wash: Yeah, we're pretty much just giving each other significant glances and laughing incessantly.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Yay for Matilda! That all-brand-newness of freshman year in a dorm is so exciting.

First day of WorldCon was fun except for the part where the registration line was nearly two hours--apparently they'd had some technical difficulties early on and by the time everything was running smoothly the line was a monster that took over the whole lobby. But I got lots of compliments on my dinosaur dress, and I'm happy to report that Martha Wells is currently working on another Murderbot book.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Move in day is one of my fondest memories.

Yay Matilda!

I too feel like I should start something new each Aug/Sept, much more than at New Years.

Mammogram today. This month is Medical August for Team Beckmeyer.

I woke up with a headache and I really just want to jump to the part where the mammogram is over, Tim's cancer is gone, my hip doesn't hurt anymore, the Zepbound worked, and the democrats control all 3 branches of government and are actually getting shit done. (In this vision for the future, my headache is gone, too.)

Aw, yay, that was a great first post to read this morning! Go, Matilda, go!

In much less exciting news, I accidentally added way too many frozen blueberries to my oatmeal this morning, so it'll be interesting to see what I end up with. Blueberry compte with some oats mixed in? (I add fruit in at the beginning so it'll cook some and be easier to digest.) Ooh, there's the timer...

Blueberry oatmeal:

Turned out fine.

Also, I support your vision, Steph.

The blueberry oatmeal sounds awesome, and I might have to have that for lunch!

Okay, have to get ready and go get squished.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Bummer about the registration snafu, Susan, but woohoo on the rest!

Also woohoo for blueberry oatmeal and Tep's vision of the future. I am semi-planning on having oatmeal for lunch, maybe with the nectarine my next-cubicle neighbor gave me mixed in (I remembered to bring the oatmeal that I bought to keep at my desk in today, but I may still decide to order lunch in). I had a feeling that "too many blueberries" was not really a thing...

Our wings are not tired.

I had a feeling that "too many blueberries" was not really a thing...

True.

Steph's vision sounds like an excellent plan.

Mammogram done and back home. This was my first ever (a bit late, I know), and based on other people's stories, I wasn't sure how painful/uncomfortable it would be, but it was seriously no big deal. The worst part is that they ask you to not wear deodorant, and it's August in a river valley, so it's hot hot hot and nasty humid, and I was afraid I was stinky. But I suppose the technician has seen it all already.
