I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Love to see dragonflies. And hummingbirds. And coyotes. I did see a coyote ambling along the side of the road a couple of weeks ago. No wildlife sightings for me today, but I haven't even been outside so that's probably a good thing.

Then I saw a squirrel charge at the hawk and chase it off the branch it had been perched on

Wow! I've seen jays and crows and maybe other small birds mobbing hawks but a squirrel is a whole new idea for me

I came here to report my extremely goofy problem. I am wearing a dress with a ruffle along the neckline. It's a hot day so I have a fan pointed directly at me (although it is not super hot yet, but I aim to begin as I mean to go on). The breeze from the fan lifts the ruffle just enough to block my sight of the keyboard I am trying to type on.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

You have accidentally stumbled into a sitcom or perhaps a Mr. Bean tribute.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

So my office newsletter just came out and Ivan, the man who stocks our pantries, has died unexpectedly. He was a dear man, 50ish. My own life right now is so much taking care of mom that his small kindnesses of adding Cafe Bustelo cups for the Keurig or setting aside hot chocolates for me when he put them out so I'd be sure to get one meant quite a lot. He had two daughters in their twenties who spoke proudly about endlessly. One just graduated law school, one is expecting a baby.

The girls have a Go Fund Me for funeral costs and my colleagues have tripled the goal amount in the hour and a half it has been up. I'm glad we've been able to make something a little easier for them right now. I hope they see it as how much we appreciated the every day things he did for us.

I wish we weren't remote today, I'd rather be with the other crying people.

Our wings are not tired.

Very pretty, Dana!

I hope they see it as how much we appreciated the every day things he did for us.

I'm sure they would love to hear any stories you can share with them.

Oh, that's hard not being with the other people who will miss him, Trudy. Lovely that you all have a practical way to show your appreciation to his daughters at least

Sitcom is a better genre than I usually fuind myself in, so I will accept that! And t minus Bean is cracking me up, makes me think of Garfield without Garfield (I googled (or perhaps I should say "ducked" but I think I am in favor of the xeroxification of google) and it's actually Garfield Minus Garfield so even better!)

Having the oddly surreal experience of sitting all alone cycling through stages of grief. I keep double-checking the picture, "Its a big firm! Maybe its another Ivan!"

Its always sudden, of course, but I was chatting with him on Tuesday. Nothing was wrong. He was my ageish or even a little younger... I'm half-Anya here - its stupid.
