Boo! Monday mornings are rough enough.
My poor sister had a deer jump into the side of her car this morning. This is, I think, the 4th deer vs car incident in her 50 years living up here. Also, deer are dumb. The last one jumped off the top of a snowbank onto the top of her car when she was driving home.
Not a big deal, but the sort of mistake I used to find mortifying in college, so I'm posting this to show I'm not really worried that you picture me dribbling tapioca into a cup because I get titles confused.
I got "Local Hero"(Which I don't think I've really seen) mixed up with "Hero", which is summarized here.

I mix shit like that up all the time, erikaj. Now I just lean into it. I also do things like when DH and I were watching West Wing last year, I called it "White House," and I still do. The Last of Us is "The Rest of us," to me (and then I always think, "Festivus!") It can be good, silly fun up in my head sometimes, I tell you what.
Took my aunt in for some eye surgery this morning, which went well, and we're chilling now. I'm spending the night just for, ya' know, company. She's super duper independent, but sometimes it's still nice to have a body around. Biopsy should come back in ten or so days to see whether she will need a Mohs procedure. Crossing fingers not, but she says the consensus seems to be she probably will. Meanwhile, I'm ignoring consensus in favor of actual biopsy. As you do.
Also, it's freaking hot, and I'd like to not go outside again today.
Over the weekend I went thrift shopping with a friend; we looked up all the independent thrift stores in my area and made them a priority over the usual Goodwill & Value Village/Savers stops.
The last store we went to HAD to have been some sort of money-laundering front. Not only did they have some of the weirdest things I've ever seen, there was no organization AT ALL, and the clerk spent the entire time we were there outside smoking. But the weirdest things: they had a small grocery side room with the sign "Discount Produce", there was the constant sound of a buzz saw coming from the back of that room, and
outside the store
there were plastic tubs holding wrapped packages of ground turkey. Outside. In the hot weather and direct sun.
For those on the other social medias, yes, that's the thrift store where I found the terrifying doll.
(I kinda want to go back and get her to give to a friend, but TBH I'm not sure I want to set foot in that store again. It was a little too weird, even for me.)
I constantly mix up things like that or come up with new names for things.
For example, we call the PBS show Miss Scarlet and the Duke “Peacock”. Which I think was some combination of the peacock blue color that she wears in the promo materials along with the Miss Scarlet association with Clue. (I literally had to stop and think to come up with the actual correct name.)
Yeah that’s a back away slowly kind of place I think.
No thank you.
Okay, I want to visit this place.
