Over the weekend I went thrift shopping with a friend; we looked up all the independent thrift stores in my area and made them a priority over the usual Goodwill & Value Village/Savers stops.
The last store we went to HAD to have been some sort of money-laundering front. Not only did they have some of the weirdest things I've ever seen, there was no organization AT ALL, and the clerk spent the entire time we were there outside smoking. But the weirdest things: they had a small grocery side room with the sign "Discount Produce", there was the constant sound of a buzz saw coming from the back of that room, and
outside the store
there were plastic tubs holding wrapped packages of ground turkey. Outside. In the hot weather and direct sun.
For those on the other social medias, yes, that's the thrift store where I found the terrifying doll.
(I kinda want to go back and get her to give to a friend, but TBH I'm not sure I want to set foot in that store again. It was a little too weird, even for me.)
I constantly mix up things like that or come up with new names for things.
For example, we call the PBS show Miss Scarlet and the Duke “Peacock”. Which I think was some combination of the peacock blue color that she wears in the promo materials along with the Miss Scarlet association with Clue. (I literally had to stop and think to come up with the actual correct name.)
Yeah that’s a back away slowly kind of place I think.
No thank you.
Okay, I want to visit this place.
Aw, I think the doll is cute. She reminds me of my maternal grandmother; just needs a wine-colored cardigan instead of the fancy dress.
If they start selling meat pies
do not buy them.
So a 5050 split on the bill vote and Vance broke the tie
And when people start really suffering there will be Republicans who voted for it who will talk about how they regret their vote
Also Dad is in the hospital. He had a colonoscopy 3 weeks ago and started having bleeding. This happened to him last year. Tomorrow he has a colonoscopy and endoscopy, which is what they did last year.

Raise your hand if you feel like spoiled turkey is the best case scenario for what's going on here.
It feels like the Pork Store from the Sopranos got a new location.(Except Satriale's had a nice deli in the front.)
I am just...always angry. Not to mention the fact that I have forgotten what happiness or hope for the future might have felt like way before this(Don't worry, to fill the hole, I've got workshops and a bunch of thankless labor on the phones)
Not to mention, even if they left it alone, Medicaid sucks. So being disabled and winning would have felt like losing.(Still better than turning folks loose to forage, or whatever they think will happen, but it's a stingy, miserable experience.)

Scare quotes seem like they might be appropriate for the "ground turkey."
