Wesley: All right. I'm going to let you all in on something you may have trouble comprehending. I assure you however-- Gunn: Vampires are real. Wesley: I was telling!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yeah, I suppose we are probably getting a Dutch Bros stand, or whatever they call it, but there's one not very far away and I can't think of a good spot for one in town so I'm curious where it will go. Or if it's actually something else. The thing I saw was pretty cryptic.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I am on my way to dinner!

Epic, that’s so rough and unfair and basically not at all in order. Especially so soon post birthday.

But I must admit “ass over teakettle into a cypress bush” has a certain lyrical charm.

Woo dinner!

Yay dinner for Brenda!!

I am proud I made it to the gym, even if I only did half of one of the three exercises I was doing. I am still sore from other stuff!

Ok I’m supposed to go camping next weekend (for this dancing camping thing) and I don’t really want to cook food and try to clean, while camping. Especially just for me. Who has food suggestions? I’ll have a cooler that is strong. I’m thinking pb&j, a cold quinoa/bean/avocado salad I like, maybe yogurt and granola for breakfast? Any other ideas? And obviously lots of snacks.

Our wings are not tired.

Slowly getting my act together to go north. My son has his electric back finally after 3 days. The record breaking heat didn't help. He spent a lot of time in his car.

It will be hard to say bye to my siblings. In particular my brother, who is still in the hospital but may be moved to rehab tomorrow.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Hello lovely people, I somehow haven't been on the board in over a week?!?!

Shir, I continue to think of you and Nilly and hope you stay safe.

I am working from home today, but officially I am now meant to be in-office 5 days a week. All of the NY-based people in my org have been moved into a new office to make room for RTO5, and the new office, bluntly, sucks balls. Rumor is that it's a short-term lease only and we'll all be moving again in 2 years but UGH.

Both kids graduated from their respective schools last week, leaving me with one each college and high school freshmen. And Dylan is officially An Adult! Whaaaaat???

NYC is supposed to be a balmy 96F today, slightly down from yesterday's high of The Literal Surface Of The Fucking Sun. When I got in my car after work yesterday the temp reading was 110 outside.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

When I got in my car after work yesterday the temp reading was 110 outside.

Ugh!

Congrats to Dylan and Aeryn for leveling up!

Boo on the crappy in-office-ness.

I got up at 8 and took my niece Crystal out for coffee and a walk in the Panhandle.

Now we're headed to breakfast at Zazie.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I do hate losing vernal pools. One of my favorite city planning things is when they put parks in areas that flood now and then instead of building things that need to be fixed or replaced after every major weather event.

That’s a sensible move

I just broke out the pressure washer and pressure washed my patio! Went a little crazy on the steps trying to get rid of the moss/mildew/whatever that green film is and blasted off a lot of the paint too, but oh well.

Trying to decide if that’s enough for the night or if I need to go buy things at Safeway. Maybe I’ll split the difference and buy some Trader Joe’s things.
