Re: Starbuck's copycat egg bites -- the bacon gruyere ones? I have a copycat for that, too, and they are SO GOOD.

Mine don't have bacon, sadly, because Tim is a vegetarian and I am too lazy to make 2 different batches. And also I use whatever cheese is on hand -- today's was grated parmesan. Although gruyere is fantastic in them. They're an easy lazy way to get protein in the morning.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Yesterday's grocery pick-up included a loaf of French bread that stuck comically far out of the top of the bag. Perhaps this indicates I've made the transit from ordinary reality to TV World?

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Saw a blacked-out SUV with lights in its grill and waaaaaay out of state plates driving all bossy in my nabe this morning. Fucking creepy. I stopped into one of the larger stores and told one of the staff, heard them paging the manager as I left. I put it on a neighborhood group on da 'book. Just try and spread the word, I guess.

So far, we haven't had too much bullshit in the Heights. For a few days after the inauguration ICE was skulking around the schools but then they went away. We keep joking This Neighborhood is Protected by the Mirandas but... its a little true. Any misbehavior would go fucking viral just about instantly.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Fucking creepy

Ugh. Dislike.

Sun is trying to peek out this morning.

I'm up early, had my mug of oatmeal and coffee. Cleaned out the massive stack of dishes in the sink, loaded the dishwasher and soaked the pans. Emptied the wastebaskets and got it all into the trash.

And now I'm off to Monday Morning Pilates. Which is the official start of my week.

Our wings are not tired.

Very creepy and scary. Ugh. I can't imagine the level of fear so many are living under.

Well done with the productivity, Hec! I was up swimming early before the sun is too hot. It has been in the 90s every day and I sweat while swimming laps. I have a system where I swim for a while, go in the spa for 5 minutes to get all hot, then back in the pool, which feels cool by comparison. The pool showers are cool too which helps. The pool water has to be mid 90s. Not very refreshing. eta: Swimming is still my best exercise. I jog in one direction then swim back for my laps. Do this for 45 minutes or so, depending on the heat.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

At home today, and kinda bored. Finally finished shredding a bunch of old insurance statements and credit card bills. Also moved read books from my night table to their approximate places on the shelves. At least I'll catch up on the current season of Leverage:Redemption.

Always Anti-fascist!

It rained here on this date for the first time in about a hundred years.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

When are Phoenix's monsoons supposed to be monsooning? I've, apparently, forgotten.

I got a dab of rain yesterday and am hoping that monsoons are back in play.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Always Anti-fascist!

Is it really true that monsoon rain happens more at night, or is that the way I remember it? (Don't like those, though. More lightning storms and power outages.) This was just rain that felt nice.
