Zoe: Planet's coming up a mite fast. Wash: That's just cause, I'm going down too quick. Likely crash and kill us all. Mal: Well, that happens, let me know.

Our wings are not tired.

Random Monday puzzle update: This morning, I celebrated the holiday by doing the entire NYT puzzle without looking up a single thing. In addition to all my little challenges, I'm attempting to do at least one of the full puzzles a week.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, David, my heart goes out to Isabella and Hannah and everyone with Lola

Punishingly Intricate

I’m so sorry, David. Love to you and Matilda and all your friends’ loved ones.

Always Anti-fascist!

In one sense, I envy Lola for being able to hold onto that.(In another, maybe it's not fair to create another hurdle for your daughter, who'll need to be prepared(But, then again, can you, really? Is there anything you could say that would help enough?) That's just terrible, though, I'm sorry.

Our wings are not tired.

Yeah, you can't ever be completely prepared, but being completely unprepared is another level. I hope her loved ones have a sound support system.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We just got back from Balticon. The con itself was good, but the overnight visit with Mr. S wasn't. He ended up having a meltdown Saturday evening that ended with him going to the ER. I don't know what was the trigger. Could be sensory overload, could be something else. He ended going from the hospital back to the RTC.

I have a short week because Friday is my colonoscopy/endoscopy.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I’m sorry, David.

Brenda, I hope you have (had) a lovely time at the Pictured Rocks. My dad was from the upper peninsula , and we visited the Munising area many times. It’s a gorgeous area.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh David, that's so sad.

Oh, I'm so sorry, Hec, that's just tragic.

My sister knew a woman who was dying of cancer when her daughter was in high school -- and she didn't tell anyone. Not even her husband. She died like a week after her daughter graduated, to the shock of the entire community. I guess that's not denial, but it's something.

In better news, I spent much of this afternoon cleaning out my refrigerator, while listening to the Revolutions podcast eps on The Martian Revolution.

And yesterday I did a 9-mile section of the SF Crosstown Trail, which is quite lovely. I saw a bunch of the city I didn't know, and we even heard coyotes in McLaren Park. Definitely recommended if you like traipsing across the city through various parks, and don't mind a lot of stairs.
