Giles: I'm sure we're all perfectly safe. Dawn: We're safe. Right. And Spike built a robot Buffy to play checkers with. Tara: It sounded convincing when I thought it.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Great news, JenP!

Matilda and I are in Manhattan! We got up at 3:30am for our flight and it wasn't direct, and both legs of it were delayed so we're really frickin' tired.

On the plus side, I watched Man From U.N.C.L.E. (Cavill / Cannibal version) again on the flight and it was just as stylish and cool and well made as I remembered.

Then I watched A Complete Unknown which I enjoyed despite some of its factual liberties.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Job~ma continuing your way, Calli! That's kind of nice you have time to decide. It would be really nice if you had the next thing lined up by then!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good news, Jen! And good luck, Calli.

My nap felt really nice but now I am nauseous and headachey. Do not like. May be related to poor hungry choices after I woke up, and lack of caffeine, but either way, not happy.

Thanks, all!

Ugh, hope you feel better, meara.

Yay, Manhattan! Enjoy.

Calli, I hope you get something soon and can take the severance with a new job ready in the wings.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Jobma to all who need it!

I went into SF for dinner & some tv (OFMD) with friends, and it's shocking to realize I used to do this every week. It's such an exhausting hassle! OTOH I left the Tornado out of her crate and she appears to not have destroyed anything. So, baby steps for her.

Work is just busting my ass and I have a problem.

Who here is an ADA expert? I have an employee who should get a reasonable accommodation for not returning to office, but his doctor is an asshole and signed the form saying he doesn't have a disability. Can my employee get another opinion? The agency would like to see more documentation than just me saying the accommodataion is appropriate, if you catch my drift. But if he doesn't get it, I fear we will lose him...

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I had Jury Duty on Wednesday -- which turned out to be waiting around for about 4 hours, as all-but-one of the dozen-plus trials were negotiated away. They only called #1-#34 jury pool members for the one that was happening, I was #68, so I had a little bit of trepidation as I'd probably be in the next tranch.

But, as it turned out, all I got was the ability to go home way earlier than I do on a regular workday.

Forgot this is a three day weekend, but inasmuch as I have no life, I'll work on Monday.
