Shir it was wonderful having you here and seeing you again in SF! Glad your luggage made its way home.

Natter 78: I might need to watch some Buffy for inspiration
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Shir, I echo the delight everyone else has written of with regards to getting to see you (and, in my case, your lovely local friend!). Thanks to you, I now know where to go for pretty killer vegan burgers, too.
J finished Season 2. Imma share a lil something he just shared with me:
Spike's Saga (to date)
• Came in like he was going to own the town
• Got into a power struggle with a small child
• Got his ass handed to him in every single encounter with Buffy
• Was such a non-threat to Buffy that she declined to stake him despite multiple glaring opportunities to do so
• Let Buffy's crew waltz in and out of his lair
• Telegraphed his big plan so badly that Buffy was able to one-shot his superweapon
• Got himself crippled restoring Dru
• Immediately after let Angel steal Dru away with hardly a peep
• Was forced to side with Buffy and play nice with Joyce
• Could only fight Angel by bushwhacking him
• Turned tail and ran out of town as fast as he could
And I have my phone again! HUZZAH! It had quite the journey. Charging up and then I should be able to start dealing with photos from this weekend. Not that I took many...but there is at least a prophetic pic from the back of a Waymo, LOL

Bwah!
TL;DR: Not just Love's Bitch.

Yay! Props to the Waymo Lost and Found protocol. I waltzed in, gave them the number and they handed me the phone.

If only they would also ship, but I grock the liability issues.
You guys, last night's pre-wedding shindig was a hootenanny. The Sangeet is traditionally the pre-wedding party when the family of the bride and family of the groom sing and perform dances, etc. There was no singing, but there were a few choreographed dances, and then the deejay switched to what I, as a Very White Person, think of as "wedding reception music" and the dance floor was open. Y'all, everyone was dancing their asses off. I've been to weddings where there was less dancing. So much fun! There was a mehndi artist there doing henna tattoos for anyone who wanted one. They're so pretty!
I asked the groom at one point "If everyone is dancing like this for a pre-wedding event, what is the reception going to be like?" And he grinned and said "Basically a rager. With 3 times as many people."
So now the Hindu ceremony is this morning (I am currently drinking SO MUCH COFFEE), followed by a big luncheon, and then nothing until tomorrow's Lutheran ceremony and giant rager of a reception.
Seems like the theme carrying from one reception to the other is coffee.
May everyone have a fully-caffeinated good time!
Sounds like a great time, Steph!
And, yes, Shir, so happy I was able to meet and hug you!!!
