"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

He’s either 8 or 9. They’re in third grade. Technically I’m friends with the mom on FB, but I don’t know her well at all and don’t know how she’d react if I contacted her directly. So I’m going through the teacher.

Our wings are not tired.

Wow, SJ. I'm also filled with rage. I get that kids can be jerks, but letting the teacher know is appropriate.

Agree. The mom would be put on the defensive while the teacher should have more objective experience.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Fucksake. I am both furious and full of despair for humanity.

Punishingly Intricate

Ooh that makes me mad!!! I would be inclined to tell her to start a rumor that he pees his pants and encourage others to call him Pee Pants through high school. Which is probably why it’s good I didn’t have kids.

Good grief, sj. Where is an eight year-old kid hearing that kind of crap? I'm so sorry ltc and her friend were on the receiving end.

Dear ltc,

Please share with this rude child that looks are subjective and not one’s choice, but being a jerk is definitely a choice and he got it wrong. Ugly on the inside is worse, may he have the life he deserves with that behavior. Then laugh at him.

Imagine someone not wanting to be around you? YOU ARE AWESOME.

He probably eats dirt.

If I lived closer I’d be happy to visit ltc at lunch and provide some angry auntie vibes via glares and pointing to this child.

Reminder I am comprised mostly of anger that is ready to assist any of you and yours.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

UGH sj, I'm so sorry ltc is dealing with this. I think erika has it right - kids that age mimic older sibs and friends of older sibs and they never seem to pick up anyone's good qualities.

Dear distant coworker from whom I need literally one single favor, I have been at this company a very long time and am in fact an expert in the system you are currently lecturing me about. I do not need an explanation of how it works, I just need to know who currently has permission to use it so I can ask them to perform a task that will take roughly thirteen seconds once this conversation is over.
