Update on M's Mom . They don't know what is going on but the doctor thinks it might be lung disease. So they are going to keep her until she is stabilized and then she'll see a specialist. That is all the details I know.

M came home from the ER yesterday and just broke down crying. This is so stressful for him. As much as his mom and he have issues he still loves her .

And his dad died in April or May right before we met. He went to the hospital for heart problems, I think, but it didn't seem that serious and then he passed away. So this is hitting him really hard.

My heart goes out to M. It can be even harder when parents are sick if the relationship is more complicated

Yeah. Hos relationship with his sister is complicated too ..well her relationship with him and their brother.

I'll probably piss several people off including M's mom but I'm going to talk to M about declaring the house a No Smoking Zone. She doesn't need second hand smoke. She doesn't need to smoke (not sure how that is going to go for her but she is a day and half cigarette free).

My brother, who is being treated for lung cancer, has been doing one cigarette a day. Lighting it about 5 times for a puff or two at a time. He's smoked for 60 years so we are impressed. He's only smoked outside for many years.

Mike Lawler has been very vocal about the need to solve the "antisemitism crisis on college campuses" issue too, and among all the horrors this administration has unleashed, hiding behind a shield of "protect the students from antisemitism" so they can pull evil Nazi shit like disappearing Palestinian activists is pretty fucking beyond.

It really is.

If M's mom has an oxygen tank then there is going to be no smoking. She doesn't have any kind of self control at all and is very impulse driven. Which will make it hard but last year she caught the bathroom trash can on fire twice because she tossed the ashes from the ash tray in there and forgot she had a lot/smoldering cigarette. And recently she's been caught falling asleep with a cigarette on her hand.

I think this will be hell for everyone but I'm going to spread the misery around.
