There's more than one way to skin a cat. And I happen to know that's factually true.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I forgot it was Ash Wednesday until I was watching some NBA commentary and the woman speaking had the weirdest, wispiest bangs. Until the camera moved in on her and I realized they weren't bangs.

Thanks to Laura's low carb bread endorsement I two eggs in a basket for breakfast. And then didn't eat until just now when I made an oven roasted hash of what was in the crisper (zukes, broccoli, red bell, mushrooms...), and had that with a delicious Bi-Rite crab cake, and one sunnyside up egg.

Very protein, demure and mindful.

I did the onerous tasks yesterday when I cleaned the Guinea Pig cage (overdue!) and got a check in the mail that was also getting overdue. I rallied last night to make a social engagement I was waffling on (and it was nice), and I've made a bunch of appointments for the next few weeks.

There's some mail I need to open and look at tomorrow but I don't really want to. I will though. And do the difficult, onerous call.

Hahah that was me, though I believe Brenda concurred.

Ha! I almost added, "or was it meara?"

Parking for yoga requires flexibility.

I see what you did there... heh.

Dinner was yum and fun, and now I must sleep.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Hil- I am sort of 100% that I have ADHD, but these medication shortages have me not want to even try.

I've been on these meds since high school, and I've never seen anything like this.

Our wings are not tired.

Yay for chill yoga! I have an option of free yoga at a couple of local gyms with my Silver Sneakers membership. I like it when I go, but it reminds me of the days when I was actually good at it. I have a gym in the building. A beach across the street. Pools. Several free to me gyms. And yet! During the summer my sister is my gym buddy, but I need to find one locally. I clearly won't do this on my own anymore.

Well done with the onerous tasks and culinary accomplishments, Hec! Sending continued getitdone~ma today.

Thank you! I'm up early and have already eaten my half mug of oat bran and First Coffee, and I'll be out the door soon for an early run on a clear, crisp sunny morning.

Then a mix of onerosity and fun stuff.

UnFun: Going to FedEx to scan docs, make homeowners insurance call.

Fun: Manicure, socializing later at Alembic.

Neutral: Vacuuming. Making a frittata.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I need to make this comment somewhere, so y'all get it. This Target "fast" thing that seems to be getting news coverage - I was on the Q4 earnings call a couple of days ago and one of the things they mentioned was that while Feb was soft they had record sales for Valentine's Day so they expected a strong Easter. If a lot of people do boycott for all of Lent that is definitely going to impact that.

meara - Mar 06, 2025 8:45:27 am PST #5927 of 7017

Hah a boycott only does so good if you just save up all the buying and money and spend it all at Easter there! I hadn’t heard of a Lenten boycott (just the general one)

Thrive to spite them

So I'm back at work today. I have pretty much had to talk to everyone today. Which is fine but I kind of wish I could get them all together and just tell everyone once.

I feel....not great. Not as bad as yesterday. I keep sweating but it's not that hot. Like I don't feel that hot. And my face keeps getting really red. Except I can only feel it because the skin on my face feels like a layer of fire over my face. But not all the time.

I'm moving slow. I really want to go home but I don't have the PPTO to do that and I can't risk too many points.

I'm hoping the doctor will have some ideas.

I hope the doctor helps, askye! And that work can let you take it relatively easy meanwhile. That doesn't sound too good.

I guess it was organized by a church, meara? I saw an article through CNN and then a couple other headlines but I didn't read up on exactly what they are suggesting people do

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I’m killing time people-watching in the hospital cafeteria while my Dad gets zapped with electricity to shock his heart rhythm out of afib. This cafeteria has good food, but I had such a big breakfast that I have no appetite. I’ll probably get hungry at a really inconvenient time, like 3:17.

I do have a can of fizzy water, so I’ve got that going for me.
