Just got a text about that from the friend who first got me to watch Buffy. That is so very sad.
Natter 78: I might need to watch some Buffy for inspiration

Dropping in to pass condolences to Shir, and thanks to Nilly for all you're doing.
And i guess sending out condolences through the ether to Michelle Trachtenberg's friends and family; that is way too young to go.
About half an hour ago I told someone who was leaving to have a good weekend. I just now realized that today is Wednesday. Maybe he didn't hear me.
I know Shir is not seeing messages. but I want to put love to Shir and her family out in the world.
I learned this morning that an important mentor from my small town (the mom of a friend, but we had a separate relationship in my twenties, founding a community theatre together) passed away. She was on hospice, but still heart-wrenching. Her son, who was a misfit kid like me, was killed in a tragic accident sort of caused by him being fairly poorly treated and suspended for things that would today look like being neurodivergent when he was in 6th grade and I was in 8th. She was the misfit kid mentor in the late 80's early nineties- she took folks to Rocky Horror, hosted Dungeons and Dragons, and, yes, helped me set up a non-profit 501 (3) c when I was 19 to put on Godspell with my friends. Every nerd, neurodivergent, LGBTQ+ and other weirdo in my town was supported by her. She participated in local government She was also literally the only other mother my mom ever connected with in our whole town and my mom is a little older than she was, so I don;t want to tell my mom. As I was checking for more info about that on Facebook, I came across the Michelle Trachtenberg news. So, just a depressing day all around.
Funny story- Joanne (the late mentor) kept asking for her baby in the hospital, and her daughter Melyssa (my friend) had to keep explaining to the nurses that it wasn't her, it was her cat. Melyssa was able to find a good home for the cat with a friend, as Melyssa is in a non-cat apartment, so all is well with Pyewhacket, a beautiful tortie.
I'm sorry for your loss, Sophia... what a wonderful woman.
I’m so sorry for your loss, Sophia. And the loss to your community of such a lovely person.
I’m sorry for your loss, Sophia. Thank you for sharing the memories. She sounds wonderful.
I'm sorry for your loss, Sophia. It is lovely that you were part of each other's lives.
Sophia, your mentor sounds absolutely lovely. I'm so sorry for your loss.
Last week I caught a cold, which is annoying but comparatively easy to deal with (hey, at least it's not bird flu) — until both ears started hurting a couple of days ago. They're pretty painful (actually my right ear is unbearably painful when I blow my nose), so I'm assuming both ears are infected. I'm going to the doctor in a little bit for (I assume) antibiotics.
The middle ear is a very small space to cause so much pain! I assume RFK Jr won't let me have Ear Morphine for the pain.
Teppy, I've been thinking of you and the other Ohioistas while my cousins are staying with me this week. They have lived in Enon most of their lives. We have been comparing the horrors of Florida and Ohio governments. So far neither of them is winning or losing the competition, although both seem to want to top the other.
