I love your department and the students' ideas to resist, Hil, and the Yosemite Park Rangers' upside-down flag on El Cap is perfect. As I said recently on Bluesky, look to the librarians and the park rangers. They know how to resist and rebel.

My job is the only thing keeping me going right now. Friday, a French speaking family was in the play area (two tiny little girls). The father was reading them a picture book in English and I walked over to our world language section to pull our a picture book in French. I went to the table and slipped it to the youngest and said, "En Francais." She squeeed "EN FRANCAIS! EN FRANCAIS!" and I swear, I nearly cried.
I am so glad the college students just don't give a shit--tear down those signs.
Weekends are just a fucking nightmare--they keep firing people every Friday and Saturday and we spend the beginning of the week in shock and the other half in dread. I hate Fascism.

There's an AAUP demonstration on campus Tuesday morning. It'll mean waking up really early (for me), but I'm going to be there. Because, really, it's the least I can do. Just need to check the accessibility of the route first.
