Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

oh, interesting thing that has changed. I work a decent number of conventions now, like 10-15 in the year. This is actually one of my busy stretches.

Last weekend: Farpoint Convention, a sci-fi/Star Trek con in Baltimore

This weekend: KatsuCon, an anime con in National Harbor which is DCish

Next Weekend: Dreamation, a rpg/board game convention is Morristown, NJ

Next Next Weekend: Cold Wars, a historical miniatures/gaming convention in Gettysburg, PA

Anyone going to any of those, let me know, we can do a meetup!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

ltc was fever free all day yesterday, but today she has a slight fever again. She also coughed a lot last night. I’m the worst mother ever because I’m keeping her home one more day.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Hi CaBil! Sadly, I’m not really getting to conventions much these days. I’ll have to see what there is in the greater Detroit area.

Our wings are not tired.

First, let us celebrate this day when our beloved Buffistas Pix and Maria were born. Wishing you both an abundance of joy, this day and always.

I’m the worst mother ever because I’m keeping her home one more day.

She may think so, but this sounds sensible to me.

Happy Birthday to Pix!

Happy Birthday to Maria!

May you both have a happy day today and many more in the coming year.

We are snowed in but nowhere to go anyway, so it's all good. DH already shovelled the walk and sidewalk, yay! I will do the driveway (well, the parts that need doing) in a few.

Think I'll make some hot cocoa this morning. Seems right.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Yep snow. Mac still had PT this morning, just delayed an hour. I opted to not got out and shovel in my boot and getting out of the drive was a bit of a pain. The tires kept spinning and someone parked on the street where it blocked us being able to back out in one try. Still we prevailed and the rest of the drive in was clear.

Really not looking forward to clearing the sidewalks when we get back. Hoping a neighbor feels generous and does mine before we get back.

Hi CaBil nice to see you.

Happy Birthday Pix!

Happy Birthday Maria!

It's rainy and clammy cold here, so I have declared it Wear a Cozy Bathrobe to Work Day.

Hi CaBil, welcome back!

Thanks all!

Not sure if people remember, but I live in the DC area. I don't work for the Feds obviously, but many of my friends do, either directly or as contractors.

Last night, one got fired in all of the DOGE shenanigans. She's worked for the Feds for more than decade, but that didn't matter.

Sigh.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

The AMA YouTube page is a very good resource.

The PROmed newsletter is good but nowhere near as user-friendly. They are "the largest publicly-available surveillance system conducting global reporting of infectious diseases outbreaks." They do email updates including a daily wrap up.

Pros: This had me worried about Covid before it was widely talked about in the US.

Cons: This had me worried about Covid before it was widely talked about in the US.

Happy Birthday, Kristin and Maria!
