You know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I go get and beat you with until you understand who's in ruttin' command here.

Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

Thanks all!

Not sure if people remember, but I live in the DC area. I don't work for the Feds obviously, but many of my friends do, either directly or as contractors.

Last night, one got fired in all of the DOGE shenanigans. She's worked for the Feds for more than decade, but that didn't matter.

Sigh.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

The AMA YouTube page is a very good resource.

The PROmed newsletter is good but nowhere near as user-friendly. They are "the largest publicly-available surveillance system conducting global reporting of infectious diseases outbreaks." They do email updates including a daily wrap up.

Pros: This had me worried about Covid before it was widely talked about in the US.

Cons: This had me worried about Covid before it was widely talked about in the US.

Happy Birthday, Kristin and Maria!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

There may not be OSHA pretty soon.

Did not think about that until after I got home, but yeah. Working from home the balance of the week regardless

Sorry about your friend, CaBil. Such a mess. I actually tried to watch CSPAN this morning to follow what's being said if not what's happening but I couldn't take it for long.

Best wishes for happy days for Pix and Maria despite all the everything!

I mean, for now. By the end of this week, who knows?

Oh! I did not know you were in the DC area, Cabin. Good to know! (I'm NoVa).

I shovelled the driveway, like all the way into the crappy parts where it meets the road. All clear now! And de-snowed the car. I am feeling quite virtuous.

Lunch time!

Umm, yeah. I'm surprised so many people remember me. I must be unforgettable!

Like a burr. Or an unwanted houseguest. Impossible to dislodge. ;)

Our wings are not tired.

CaBil, I know we met at some F2F, but I don't have a chance of remembering where.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The local furniture place that sells Stickley furniture is having a Stickley sale. Matilda wants a new chest for her room and I'm thinking of this: [link]

I love this detail: "The top two [drawers] are velvet lined, and the top-right drawer also features a sliding velvet jewelry tray."

Umm, yeah. I'm surprised so many people remember me. I must be unforgettable!

Pfft. You gave me and JZ a ride in your new Prowler at the DC F2F.
