Giles: Stop that, you two. Riley: He started it... Xander: He called me a bad name! I think it was bad; it might have been Latin.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Imagine converting to Catholicism, and then only a few years later, you are personally called out and smacked down by the Pope.

It’s never going to happen, but I would LOVE for a reporter to corner him and make him admit that either what he said was wrong or that the Pope isn’t infallible.

Five bluebirds!!! I've only ever gotten a single one at a time sighted in our yard -- always makes me so happy! Which... is kind of their job, eh?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Where else is she looking, Hec?

I think she'd consider San Diego where her bestie Iris is going. But her friends who have gone to school in SoCal have all felt a bit stranded, because they don't have cars or driver's licenses. (It's really hard to learn to drive in SF, and they have plenty of other options between Muni and Uber.)

Whereas their native SoCal classmates all got their licenses at 16 and have been driving the freeways since then.

This is the campus for USF: [link]

That church is literally visible from my back yard.

Happy birthday, minus t! I, for one, am very happy you were born and celebrate the day.

that either what he said was wrong or that the Pope isn’t infallible.

He’d probably just decide Francis isn’t a legitimate pope. (Also technically I recall the pope is only infallible when they say they’re getting a message from god, not all the time, but still)

My trivia team got second place again last night—second week in a row! Amusingly that means you get to choose a category for the next week—and we would’ve won this week if we’d gotten all the answers in our own category right but we missed one!! (We were still pretty proud because the visual round was identifying football movies from stills, and none of us are football or movie people)

It's called Ex Cathedra, IIRC. (Those 12 years of Catholic school are very long ago.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Imagine converting to Catholicism, and then only a few years later, you are personally called out and smacked down by the Pope.

SO FUNNY

Thanks some more for the birthday wishes! I had an email from the service the company uses to give us our little employee rewards so I clicked through and jumped through all the hoops to get into my account to find it was just "happy birthday" and no actual award. The thought doesn't count for that much when it's coming from my employer. OTOH, I do appreciate the card from my coworkers, although it made me sad to see that there are way fewer signatures on it than there used to be. But y'all's thoughts and pixels are always welcome!
