Yes, apparently the pneumonia is only in one lobe of one lung. So, we caught it early.

Conga-rats for Matilda and good wishes for ltc. If anyone has spare -ma tomorrow, Dad is going in for his second hip replacement.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Congrats to Matilda, and I hope ltc is feeling better soon!

I've been re-watching Sweet Magnolias. It's cute and fun, and also kind of interesting from a "culture wars" sort of perspective -- it's set in a small town in South Carolina, where the kids call their parents "sir" and "ma'am" and everyone goes to church on Sundays, and the pastor at that church is a Black woman. (I've also completely given up on trying to figure out the economy of this town -- there are mentions that there used to be a mill and a union hall, but the mill closed years ago, and there are tourists who I guess like going to cute small towns, but every town that I've ever seen that looks like this has had a university or a major employer or something nearby, and they don't seem to.)

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Maybe they have a prison on the outskirts of town? My niece and her husband moved to a town like that a year or so ago and the prison is both the economic mainstay and not really talked about.

Also, congrats to Matilda! While I hope she has adventures elsewhere for 4+ years, it’s nice to know there’s something guaranteed. Where else is she looking, Hec?

Health~ma to ltc.

Our wings are not tired.

Zooming by to announce a cause for celebration! Happy birthday to -t and sincere wishes for abundant joy in the coming year.

Sending health~ma to ltc and family.

Yay, Matilda! An excellent option.

I'm off to a funeral in about 15 minutes and still am struggling with what to wear. The deceased has 10! granddaughters (one great grandson). Every single one of these women had solid black on at the wake last night. Every black dress I own can only be described as sexy cocktail. I do have a more flowy black floral dress that I wear to the symphony or plays. It's that or jeans and a black variety of top. It's a full mass this morning so probably the dress.

ltc went to bed an hour early last night. So of course she was up at 4AM. TCG works until 7 tonight. Send all the tea.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Five! Five bluebirds at the feeder this morning. That's a record. I suppose they are preparing for the winter storm that will hit here tonight.
