I went to the mountains on Friday morning, and skiied with my sister yesterday. It was fun, although we spent more time in lift lines than I would have liked. (Weekdays are better, why am I not retired yet?)
It was good, but frustrating in some ways: I have to rant about the political situation and big sis doesn't want to hear it because it just makes her depressed. (I have not asked her to call our Congressional representatives.) I did not point out that as a wealthy healthy retired white lady she is not so much at risk as everyone else.
Today I drove back early, and took the dog to agility class, where she was, if not the star, very lively. And then hit up TJs for frozen lunches (since I am RTO this week) and potato chips for book club on Tuesday, and maybe some whiskey. But I resisted the dark chocolate PB cups, go me! Dog is exhausted and is now sleeping on my feet.
I will shortly get up and start cleaning, and put together a pot of bean-and-sausage-and-veggie stew for the week.
I kind of wish I'd been able to see it without already knowing the ending.
Oh yeah, I can imagine.
Elektra was a chaotic mess and I’m not at all sure what they were trying to achieve, or honestly whether they achieved it. Talking it through afterwards helped me connect with it a little more. It was trying to be very punk and riot grrrl and all that but in a way that actually felt kind of dated.
The times I’ve visited London, I ended up spending most of my time at the V&A, and not having much time to do anything else.
The pre kickoff music with Southern University, Harry Connick Jr and Jon Batiste was pretty sweet
DAMN, has Harry Connick Jr. aged well. Like a fine goddamn wine.
I'm thrilled that Kansas City lost.
We went to my mom and stepdad's house for the game (well, the first 3 quarters), and I hid 10 tiny resin ducks in their house. Well, I hid 9, and as I was leaving I handed Mom the tenth duck and said, “There are 9 more of these hidden in your house. Have fun!”

I think much of America is pleased. But I learned football starting in 2019 on this team so I was hoping for the three-peat. Shame they didn't show up until the 4th quarter.

Go agility!

You are evil and the best! I love this.
Well played with the ducks!
My mom texted me last night at 11:12 pm, "7 down, 2 more to go!" And then this morning at 6:54 am, "Okay, 8." And then at 8:49 am "Bingo! #9 in my rock bowl!"
I feel like I introduced new enrichment to my mom's enclosure.
That’s hilarious. I can just imagine her up all night thinking through where to look for the last couple. Nice work.
I am home! Got in about five, made myself stay up until 930 (with an assist from the Philadelphia Eagles) and got a good night’s sleep. Now to remember all the things I need to do this week as follow up or catch up from last week.

I really didn't make them difficult -- one was perched on the thermostat (though it was red, against a dark red wall), one was on her yoga mat in the spare room, one was behind the coffee creamer in the fridge, an orange one was tucked up next to an orange in the fruit bowl, etc. Hiding any in the kitchen was a challenge, because the kitchen/living room is an open-plan layout, so everyone in the living room could see right into the kitchen, and I am not stealthy.
