I have no idea how federal employees or NGOs can concentrate on doing their jobs with this bullshit.
This endangers us all. In ways we cannot comprehend.
Maybe I need some therapy.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I’m in therapy and I don’t get how they are working either.
We had a small but significant mess at work today that was not my fault, but it fell to me to be the communicator of sucky news.
Even with therapy my response it to want to punch people, so….

I feel like that's the appropriate response to many current situations.
It was raining when I woke up, but when there was a lull in the rain I went out and did my run in the drizzle. Two days in a row! Creating good habits.
Now I will shower and hie off to the AT&T store to see if I can get my phone functional again. After which I will celebrate with a TJ's run. Woo!
I've got a friend coming out to visit in a few weeks and that's going to force me to clean house. I'm fine with that. The first reason for inviting somebody over is friendship, but the second very useful one is creating a need to clean.
We reached the stage of frustrated crying at work.
My job is rarely like this, so I guess that’s something.
Oof, Matilda finally responded to me after I sent an email and an IG message. Of course it was the latter that got through. She replied:
"Hi! I saw your email, I’ve been super busy with school so I forgot to respond. That really sucks about your phone, I hope it gets worked out smoothly and soon. School has been good but also very intense and I can feel myself getting the hang of it—Same with the commute! I miss you and I love you so much!! "
She's busy! It's intense! She's getting the hang of it! Superbusy with school!
That's everything I wanted.
That was beautiful to read! I love that this is happening for her, and you.
Yay, Matilda! That's fantastic.
That's great for Matilda!
It's fairly common for us to have articles that credit a CDC program/committee as an equally contributing author in the byline. I just got my first article where that was the case, but the CDC contacted us and said to remove any mention of the CDC as an author. This is so goddamn shitty. I want to make a lot of MAGA heads explode, Scanners-style.
Yay migraine meds! Yay Matilda!
I am taking action where I can (contacted my rep and senator) and stating informed, but I am also trying to care for my mental health. The last 13 months have been a lot (with a few stretches of joy and delight, of course!), and I've felt it in my body this school year. I usually have a super teacher immune system and rarely get sick, but I've been sick multiple times this winter already. Thank goodness for Drew, who puts up with my depressed, cranky self, and my beloved friends.
My phone works! Ultimately they had to just put in a new physical SIM card, after further downloads refused to load.
Ahhhh, I can do things like...make a transfer from one bank account to another again. Because that requires they text me a security code.
Anyway: Mischief Managed. Onerosity confronted and conquered.
