Punishingly Intricate

My old office in DC was right on the river and it was *always* startling when those helicopters flew by—so huge and loud and distressing.

I’ve been enjoying the fednews sub Reddit. People are PISSED about how Trump is fucking with federal workers. I haven’t heard from anyone who is taking the Fork offer at face value.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

My in-laws live in Pentagon City, thank goodness my FiL wasn't at the airport last night. (He's a retired State Dept officer, a few days a week he volunteers at the airport.)

Former X employees have shared that the "buyout" offer letter was almost verbatim the same one they got at X that turned out (shockingly) to be a complete sham. So I'm glad to see that it seems to be driving more union membership than resignations!

Also, Congress still hasn't passed a budget for the current fiscal year. It'd be easy for them to Not Include the "severance" payments when (if) they get around to finalizing the budget.

Such a scam.

I am also still a bit freaked out by the plane crash. What a mess.

Any health ~ma you guys can spare, I'd appreciate you sending it to my mom this morning. She's about to undergo yet another transection/cauterization for her cancer. I expect the procedure to go smoothly and be easy to recover from since it's an in-office visit rather than at the hospital OR, it's just the worry of finding that the cancer has spread that's got me on edge.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I don't quite have resolution on my migraine meds, but I called my doctor's office today, they said they faxed the forms on the 20th but the insurance said they didn't receive it, so they re-faxed it and then the insurance company confirmed they got that fax. Anyway, the office manager at my doctor's office said that Ubrelvy (my migraine med) is one of the meds they have samples of, and if I run out of my dwindling stash of Ubrelvy (which is down to 2 pills), I can call the office and they'll give me some of the samples to hold me over until this bullshit is resolved.

The office manager told me that she also gets migraines and takes Ubrelvy, but it doesn't work as well for her as it does for me, but she's gotten good results from Botox. So I may consider that if my goddamn insurance doesn't approve the Ubrelvy.

But for now, I'm relieved to know if I need samples, I can get them from my doctor's office.

Warning - do not watch this press conference if you don’t want your blood pressure to spike.

Our wings are not tired.

Heath~ma for your mom, Matt.

Yes, when the press conference came on I switched to watching yesterday's General Hospital. Overly dramatic who's the daddy questions along with serial killers is far more entertaining than news. My email updates are plenty.

I finished a couple of series that I enjoyed, but with all the streaming services the possibilities are endless. I am choosing the mindless, soapy, SciFi, and/or pretty while staying away from any realistic drama. Life has more than enough crime and drama.
