Punishingly Intricate

I do have reblogs turned off

Omg thank you!! Did not realize that as a thing you could do!

Good luck Laura!!

I was going to say how do I make sure my retirement isn’t invested in shitty trump coin but probably if it fails it’ll somehow bring down the economy and we will be on the hook to rescue the banks anyway or some shit. I am feeling so pessimistic.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Thanks for the well-wishes; my stomach and I are feeling much better today!

Job~ma to Mr. Cash!

Something stood out to me from Hec's quote:

hopes we had for the Trump presidency
I thought to myself, "Someone had hopes? That's adorable."

Eye~ma, Laura! (Just realized she probably won't see this. Oh well, I always say that sending out good energy is a good thing no matter what the form. (Hence, as a Christian, being OK with Wiccan friends doing spellwork for my healing - I take the good intentions in the form they are offered).

Travel~ma, Hec!

Geez, Steph, that's literally horrifying. Living in California, even in a red-tinted city, I am mostly insulated from that kind of stuff. I was literally frightened when I read your post.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Alex's passport is supposedly now on the way and should be here by the end of the week. I won't truly celebrate till it arrives, but at least it's been issued.

Thrive to spite them

Whatever y'all do don't go to the white house site, the main page.... It will just enrage you. A lot of people are saying the Constitution and other things are gone but it looks like part of the rebranding of the site.

It snowed a tiny bit here but Tallahassee, where Dad lives is supposed to get 2-3 inches ... This winter is just wild.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I got a pile of mail built up, which probably includes my updated driver's license. I tried to buy Sudafed today, and the system wouldn't accept my temporary license. So, since I had a retired priest with me (really, he's a resident who needed stuff from CVS) I asked if it was okay for him to buy it for me if I gave him the money.

Then it occurred to me that the pharmacist might have a problem with our transaction . No, he said, it's not my business what he does with it.

I'm certain I never imagined I'd have to get a priest to keep my sinuses clear.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

My friend in NOLA said she has 8 inches in her yard!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Things proceed apace! I sent Matilda off to battle with Walgreens and she came away with her 90 Day Prescription of ADs. Adulting!

Just picked up Cousin Nicole (aka, Nikki) from Emeryville Amtrak. She will be housesitting in the Garden Apartment and keeping the piggies alive.

I've emailed the Ryokan to tell them our eating plans (you have to reserve ahead of time). Got my ESim set up for my phone when I get to Tokyo.

Now I just have to do 18 other tiddly things today. But getting Matilda's meds was the key sticking point and it's unstuck.

Yay for Japan progress!

Had a nice lunch with my cousin, then went and worked from the library. Just got home. Dinner time.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Cautious yay for Alex's passport

I'm certain I never imagined I'd have to get a priest to keep my sinuses clear.

Makes a good story!

My friend in NOLA said she has 8 inches in her yard!

That is bananapants

Woo Japan!

So, our most recent re-org includes a promotion and raise for me, which is totally unexpected but nice! And not really any additional responsibilities, it's one of those "you're already doing the work" deals. And another desk move which is less nice but not terrible. Still pending - whether our department is hiring another manager (as was in process before the layoffs), exactly what my team will be contributing to the new vision, and a third secret thing that I either can't remember or have just made up because things must come in threes
