Natter 78: I might need to watch some Buffy for inspiration

I actually plugged-in my plug-in hybrid new-to-me car yesterday! I don't have a driveway or garage, so an at-home recharge is not in the cards. So I found a public charging station in Central Square (Cambridge) and went walking/shopping for like 40 minutes, which got it up to a half-charge.. for 45 cents!
The half charge doesn't take it far at all on just EV -- like 6 miles. The gas half is way more efficient than my previous car -- I'm getting like 32mpg, so it's a win even if I don't charge up often. But it would be nice if I could charge up every day, I drive less than 6 miles on a typical day, to work and back and errands.
Sorry about the bug Epic.
I’ve got plans to see 2 movies with friends. I need to shovel the snow from yesterday and should probably see if they want to carpool since we have to pay for parking.
First though, coffee.

Getting up for an 8 am blood draw is particularly unpleasant when it's 11°F out with wind gusts, but I suppose I should be thankful there wasn't any snow or ice on the streets.
Feel better, Epic.
I'm still in hotel sequester because of the plumbing issue. The landlords' guy was there Friday, but he couldn't get it resolved, so the professional plumber came same afternoon, needed to come back Saturday with a power water blaster thing, but the power thing broke (I don't think "we" broke it; I think it just broke), so now they're back at the house right now.
We have lovely, responsive landlords, and I used points to pay for most of my stay to cut them a break, but I do hope it's resolved today for their sake and ours.
Being here, it's very easy to ignore the world right now, which is helpful.
Hi Emily!
Epic, I hope the stomach bug passes quickly.
Jen, I hope the plumbing issue gets finished up today.
I am working today, and even though I work from home and therefore could watch the inauguration (and did watch the 2020 inauguration), I'd much rather just focus on this article about depression and anxiety among people with chronic pain. That's a depressing topic, but much less depressing than the inauguration.
I saw the musical SIX yesterday with some friends, and that was a fun way to spend the afternoon.
Hmmph my movie going friends are 1) backing out because of the snow (walks with a cane, so understandable even though I offer to drive) and 2) not responding to text or phone call.
I mean I have plenty of movies to watch from home, but getting out was part of the idea.
Hmmmph

I've only TikTok'd when I followed a link. It has been my assumption for many years that all of my personal info is available to anyone who really wants it.
Well done with getting those ducks lined up, Hec.
Belly~ma, Epic.
And I'm also (sort of inexplicably?) disappointed in Snoop.
Likewise. I was so delighted with him during the Olympics. Pout.
Enjoy the hybrid, Theodosia. I loved mine. It got better than expected mileage.
Today I am watching Death and Other Details on Hulu. I do get news updates via email and happily read about the slew of last minute pardons. These people should not have to spend their dollars defending TFG's revenge actions. Much sadder update about Cecile Richards' passing.
ok, new plan - watch a bunch of the short listed shorts from here: [link]
and then maybe a full length on Netflix.
Apparently, Snoop was having a meltdown on Insta last night over people unfollowing him and calling him on his bullshit. So at least it’s not proven consequence free.
Still. The last several years have been a demoralizing chain of (mostly but not entirely) men going out of their way to demonstrate, they were never who we thought they were.
