Willow: Were there dolphins? Tara: Yes. Many dolphins at the pound. Willow: Was there a camel? Tara: There was the front of a camel. A half-camel.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oooh, Power of Complaining Activated. Found my way back into Bluesky. Voila!

One down, nineteen locked accounts to go...

Compassionately intolerant

Great minds.

I'm deleting all my content on FB and IG and starting again. I'll be visiting all remaining B's on those platforms, but mostly doing business stuff in my groups.

It's so strange feeling this weird about letting go of those daily habits. It's actually a good thing for my time and motivation, but damn. I love those places!

I'm practicaloptimism on Bsky. Haven't done much there, but will do when the great purge is over.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I'm on Bluesky under my pen name, susannafraser.

I'll probably stay on Facebook for the sake of family, college friends, and the like. I mean, right now nowhere feels good, exactly.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I legitimately love Tumblr, but it is a hellsite (affectionate) full of fannish goblins and feral raccoons. It's not a viable social media substitute for anything (nor should it be).

I spent a lot of time on Tumblr lo these many years ago when I was all-in on Sleepy Hollow fandom, especially the Ichabbie fanfic corners thereof, but I haven't really kept up there lately.

I've asked people to put "Buffista" in their profile so it's easy to find each other over there.

Fuck, I'm looking at all the fire maps in Los Angeles today.

I was hoping that it would die down but the Sunset Fire is threatening to move right into Hollywood. This is roughly equivalent to a a series of fires in Manhattan moving towards Broadway and threatening every legendary theater.

From 2010 to 2019 I gave annual Tom Waits tours primarily (hyper) focused on the history of Hollywood (music and film). I researched and researched and researched so I know every street and and its import.

From a Hollywood historian's perspective this is like when Notre Dame caught on fire.

About a month ago I linked everyone I knew that had added that to their profile to Theodosia's post about the Buffista feed but it doesn't look like anyone else has been added to that feed since it was set up.

Looks like the Sunset Fire is dying down. Thank god the winds aren't nearly as bad today as yesterday and they were able to do water drops.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

We've been calm for hours so the Mojave Desert isn't sending so much warm and very dry wind to LA. I bet Joshua Tree and surroundings are packed with evacuators rushing into Air B&Bs though.

I could go outside and see what it's like to have real neighbors again.
