Timelies all!
Yesterday was kinda hectic. Apparently no plan survives contact with Mr. S. Originally Gary was going to go get him and bring him here for the afternoon. Then Mr. S decided he wanted Nana(Gary's mom) to be there, so they were going to pick her up on their way here. I go to do the weekly supermarket run, and almost as I get home I get a call that =I= need to go pick her up. First I put away the groceries, then I go pick her up. Of course, once we're all here, Mr. S shows little interest in doing something with her. He does decide he wants to go sledding on the barely a half inch of snow that is on the grass. He also decides he doesn't want to go back in time for dinner. As he has to be back by 7pm, that doesn't leave a lot of time to get dinner(It's about an hour from our house to the RTC). I bring Gary's mom back to her house, and return home around 5:20. Gary then takes Mr. S back and I end up meeting him for dinner around 8.
We're supposed to get some amount of snow starting tonight into tomorrow. Don't know how much, but I am expected to try to get to work even if things are closed. Let's hope not much snow has fallen by the time I need to leave tomorrow morning.
It’s so exciting, David! Can’t wait to see your pictures and hear the stories!
It really looks incredible!
I went to a women’s hockey game! We don’t have a team here but the Montreal and Boston teams played and it was pretty great (more for the atmosphere and the “Mansplain Hockey Elsewhere” shirt and similar signs and such, than for the actual hockey which I honestly don’t even know the rules of). It ended in a shootout! Or as my soccer friends and I said, “ooh its going to PKs!”
That looks so neat. I am going to be so thrilled to hear about your adventures in Japan.
Once again visiting Mom has been postponed. It keeps happening and it's so frustrating. She lives an hour away it shouldn't be this hard to see her. There was a winter advisory last night saying it was through this afternoon but that is gone . Now there is a high wind advisory and my little car doesn't do well in high winds. Tomorrow looks clear so hopefully I can go then.
It is still snowing here. We are well and truly snowed in. Though that means nothing for me since I work from home. Tim is off work, though.
I'm happy to report that chili was achieved. Not the best I've ever made, but not the worst either and the first time using the stove at the new house. I expect to be pleasantly warm and full the next few days.
We're snowed in, too. I had an orthodontic appointment this a.m. that got moved to Thurs., no big. Unfortunately, DH had a nerve ablation scheduled for his back this morning that got cancelled, and he's been in a fair amount of pain. I hope they don't push it out too much later.
Other than that, and the fact that doggo does not enjoy snow and we can't find our snow shovel, all is well. We swept clean a spot out back. She's still refusing to poop, but at least she's deigning to pee outside.
In a terrible pet parent. I've known that one of the cats, most likely Penny, has been peeing outside the litter box but I thought it was her anxiety. But this morning I noticed bloody urine. So she must have a really bad UTI. I went looking for her and it seemed like she had wet herself, her backend and part of her stomach was wet
I called the vet but they aren't answering for some reason so I've left a message.
Well, the layoffs we were worried about happening in December are happening this week. We're supposed to get emails telling us whether we are staying or going shortly. All I know so far is the General Manager, VP of Finance/Accounting, and VP of Distribution and Facilities are all gone.
