Pretty cool except for the part where I was really terrified and now my knees are all dizzy.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

My backup dress that I ordered off of Amazon because I knew it would arrive in time was delivered to a locker and I forgot to pick it up before it was automatically returned. Because what is time? But I went to Ross after work today and found something pretty.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I will be there in mind and spirit this weekend.

This. I'll be at my niece's high school graduation party in Tulsa then, but I'll be holding you in my heart.

Coding and Sleeping

Because what is time?
A flat circle?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

L is waffling and probably wearing the swanky black and silver glittery vest vs. the, umm, lesbian flag color crochet grandpa vest I made for her as a slightly belated (because it took me forever) birthday gift, as she's unsure if "aggressively lesbian vest" is appropriate. (Either vest will have one of the two dressy flowing tops and the velvet kick flare pants, so it's just a vest waffle.)

Except for my tech, I am packed. Now to get my child packed before our flight tomorrow afternoon.

Our wings are not tired

I will probably wear my pride kilt.

I will inform her of that. It's a pretty killer vest, if I dare say so myself. Many are the compliments she gets in it.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Reading all the comments about wardrobe ... I'm just glad my closet has a light - it's dark in there. I actually broke down and bought a dress - haven't worn one in YEARS. Seemingly, there's a fad for "napping" dresses, which are loose enough to sleep in and a very light fabric. It's cool enough here that I haven't worn it yet ... later.

Napping dresses sound very appealing

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

as she's unsure if "aggressively lesbian vest" is appropriate.

It would totally be appropriate if that's her choice!

When I was putting the music together for the memorial I started down a sad path and yesterday I went back and pruned. Nobody needs to hear Leaves From the Vine (Avatar) in that setting. Added more Miriam Makeba and Professor Longhair.

I did include a deep cut from the Buffy soundtrack (not the musical).

Yesterday there were multiple instances of fuckery from Office Depot and Walgreens as I tried to finalize the pictures and easels.

I must complain.

So Matilda and I made five picture collages to be printed out at poster size at Walgreens. So far so good. Just have to mount them on foam board.

Then I decided to do four full sized photos as posters, which Walgreens could do and also handle the mounting.

Put in the order, they took my money and I thought, "I'm almost done."

They called me back and said they didn't have the poster boards, and probably wouldn't get more until Saturday. I tell them that doesn't work. They say they'll get back to me.

They didn't call back. So I called them and canceled the order and decided to do it through FedEx which also offers poster size print outs.

Walgreens says, "No, problem! Order is cancelled." I get an email confirming order is canceled.

I order new posters from FedEx.

Yesterday as I'm running errands I get a call from Walgreens: "Your order is ready!"

But but but! It was cancelled! You confirmed it! Gahhhhhh! Now I have to cancel the FedEx order but it might be too late.

Also, we were having trouble renting easels to put the pictures up and so I looked around online and saw I could get five easels at half price from Office Depot. So I ordered them and some more foam board and some two sided tape.

Office Depot says, "Your order will be ready for pickup in 20 minutes!"

Yay! I can cross that off the list. I go to pick it up and...no easels. The main thing. Much confusion on their part as they try to figure it out. "Can't you just go and grab five easels now while I'm here?" I say, reasonably. Ultimately they figure out that the easels will be delivered to my house the next day because they are coming from the warehouse.

"But I made the order for pickup and you took the order for pickup and didn't say there was going to be a next day delivery! And then you sent me a prompt email that my order was ready!"

It's been like that. Going back to all the administrative bullshit I've had to deal with after Jacqueline's death, no task is completed on the first attempt even if...no, especially if, you do everything right.

Anyway, it's all just stupid details that need attention. It will all happen and I'll see people I love.

Our wings are not tired.

I wish I could have taken some of the administrative bullshit off your list. I appreciate your superhuman efforts in making it come together for all of us.
