"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

as she's unsure if "aggressively lesbian vest" is appropriate.

It would totally be appropriate if that's her choice!

When I was putting the music together for the memorial I started down a sad path and yesterday I went back and pruned. Nobody needs to hear Leaves From the Vine (Avatar) in that setting. Added more Miriam Makeba and Professor Longhair.

I did include a deep cut from the Buffy soundtrack (not the musical).

Yesterday there were multiple instances of fuckery from Office Depot and Walgreens as I tried to finalize the pictures and easels.

I must complain.

So Matilda and I made five picture collages to be printed out at poster size at Walgreens. So far so good. Just have to mount them on foam board.

Then I decided to do four full sized photos as posters, which Walgreens could do and also handle the mounting.

Put in the order, they took my money and I thought, "I'm almost done."

They called me back and said they didn't have the poster boards, and probably wouldn't get more until Saturday. I tell them that doesn't work. They say they'll get back to me.

They didn't call back. So I called them and canceled the order and decided to do it through FedEx which also offers poster size print outs.

Walgreens says, "No, problem! Order is cancelled." I get an email confirming order is canceled.

I order new posters from FedEx.

Yesterday as I'm running errands I get a call from Walgreens: "Your order is ready!"

But but but! It was cancelled! You confirmed it! Gahhhhhh! Now I have to cancel the FedEx order but it might be too late.

Also, we were having trouble renting easels to put the pictures up and so I looked around online and saw I could get five easels at half price from Office Depot. So I ordered them and some more foam board and some two sided tape.

Office Depot says, "Your order will be ready for pickup in 20 minutes!"

Yay! I can cross that off the list. I go to pick it up and...no easels. The main thing. Much confusion on their part as they try to figure it out. "Can't you just go and grab five easels now while I'm here?" I say, reasonably. Ultimately they figure out that the easels will be delivered to my house the next day because they are coming from the warehouse.

"But I made the order for pickup and you took the order for pickup and didn't say there was going to be a next day delivery! And then you sent me a prompt email that my order was ready!"

It's been like that. Going back to all the administrative bullshit I've had to deal with after Jacqueline's death, no task is completed on the first attempt even if...no, especially if, you do everything right.

Anyway, it's all just stupid details that need attention. It will all happen and I'll see people I love.

Our wings are not tired.

I wish I could have taken some of the administrative bullshit off your list. I appreciate your superhuman efforts in making it come together for all of us.

Sylvie, Juliana and BiL, Lukas are doing a lot of the work.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Oh for heavens’ sake. Stupid on top of stupid (the admin stuff).

I also wish I could be there. I do have a Nora, and we may watch some on Sat. Possibly while packing.

Time is Jeremy Bearimy, no?

I keep getting annoyed at work and then I keep remembering I only have 8 days left here. And then I get a little sad. But only a little.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Man, the upside of our whole mass produced corporate behemoth dominated culture is supposed to be consistency and predictability. You have betrayed the social contract, FedEx and Office Depot!

::sniff::

That's the validation I needed. (Also Walgreens.)

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I am so sorry that I can't be there with you all in SF this weekend. David, I hope the memorial is everything you want and need it to be. I wish I could give you some big hugs in person.

All of this from me as well.

And me. Thank you (and Lukas) for providing a feed for those of us who can't be there.

Yeah, that's some next-level order fuckery.

Beautiful day here, going into a rainy weekend, so DH suggested lunch out at our local bar outside, and it was delightful.

Feel like Friday but is not. Ah, well.

I'm ready to promote you to Real Life Stompy Foot.

Saw Brendon and Laura this afternoon! Showed them the house, had lunch on the Haight. Lovely to see them.

Down to the last little details on the event.
