If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

How can one person be so extravagant and boring at the same time?

Me to the family member who just put an $80 navy blue doormat on their elfster wishlist. The hell you say.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Trying to imagine what could make a doormat be worth $80 and not coming up with anything. Secretly a trap door? Seems like that would be pricier.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I need cataract surgery on the right eye

Anecdotally my mom had hers done and it was easy peasy with quick results. She was very pleased back in 2017. If I need it, I'm going to get past the scared and see better. I did think I was seeing floaters once but it was just a spider on its web that was MUCH closer than I thought.

Same with my dad. (The surgery, not the spiders. So far as I know, anyway.)

I've had cataract surgery for both eyes and it was the easiest surgery I've ever had. Being awake during surgery was a little weird but that was the only issue.

information libertarian

I’ve bought an $80 doormat. Those nice water hog ones from ll bean in the big sizes, like 4x6? Essential if you get snow. (But I am known to be boring.)

Our wings are not tired.

I bought my son this doormat for $14, and he loves it: [link] However, this is inside an apartment building, where they have the serious snow and yuck-capturing ones at the main entrance.

It was pretty cool that I could get the consult for the cataract surgery next week. The sooner the better.

Helpful to know, flea! I have zero doormats so my perspective is, no doubt, extreme.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

My current doormat was $14.99, but a: it was half-off; and b: it's on the covered porch and comes after the large, hardcore mat that we got when we had dogs. A regular doormat gauntlet (we also have one on a low spot on the path to the house).

They live in a high-rise apartment building in Virginia.

To be fair, they’re moving into a nice new apartment after years in a nearby apartment that was honestly kind of a dump. But it’s also the only thing on his list. So I stand by my saltiness. Which is mostly in good humor.

My all-time favorite doormat (which IIRC was actually a Christmas present) was this one: [link]
