I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Helpful to know, flea! I have zero doormats so my perspective is, no doubt, extreme.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

My current doormat was $14.99, but a: it was half-off; and b: it's on the covered porch and comes after the large, hardcore mat that we got when we had dogs. A regular doormat gauntlet (we also have one on a low spot on the path to the house).

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I’ve bought an $80 doormat. Those nice water hog ones from ll bean in the big sizes, like 4x6? Essential if you get snow.

They live in a high-rise apartment building in Virginia.

To be fair, they’re moving into a nice new apartment after years in a nearby apartment that was honestly kind of a dump. But it’s also the only thing on his list. So I stand by my saltiness. Which is mostly in good humor.

My all-time favorite doormat (which IIRC was actually a Christmas present) was this one: [link]

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

JZ got the Good Place doormat: "Welcome! Everything is Fine."

And, you know, everything has NOT been fine so I find myself in disagreement with the doormat every time I come home, but don't want to get rid of it since Jacqueline got it.

Also, Matilda spilled a big latte all over it and it has a big stain.

So that's the story of our doormat.

Everything is Fine was always a lie, though. Having a big latte stain kinda makes it better.

brenda's doormat is a good one

Love Brenda's doormat and, thanks to flea, have been looking at Water Hog doormats. Our doormat was, I dunno, probably $20? And it's all faded and stained now after less than a year. Which, I didn't super care until flea came in with the Water Hog...

I'm every advertiser's dream. Except, I don't always but, so maybe not.

Dinner with a friend tonight, and I can't wait. You, know, the friend you get to mutually share all the good, bad, and ugly from the last month since your last dinner? Yeah, that one. And it has been A WEEK chez Jen.

You all, how can it be not even two weeks until Christmas? One of you fell down on the job, is all I'm saying.

Just got a call from our insurance broker. State Farm is no longer going to insure our house, so...I have to get a new insurer by March. Fun.

WTF? I knew they weren't issuing new policies but I didn't realize they were dropping people.

Oddly enough, I was just on the phone with my credit union this morning since my Travelers non-owner auto insurance is going up from ~$190 for six months to $225. I mean, $30/month was already ridiculous for basic liability insurance. If my credit card doesn't come up with a decent rate, I think I'm much better off paying the daily rate to the car rental place.
