Whoa! I... I think I'm having a thought. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's a thought. Now I'm having a plan. Now I'm having a wiggins.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Today we had our usual pre-Thanksgiving potluck. It was also a retirement party for my supervisor.(that part was a surprise) Way too much food because many people other than those in our group were invited.

Mr. S was admitted to the residential treatment center today, going right from the in-patient behavioral unit he had been in for the last few weeks. Lets hope this helps him get stabilized.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Megan, if he does decide to do that won’t the report about him become public?

It's essentially up to the Republicans and they need the seat so badly I think they won't let a vote to release it happen. However, I've given up predicting what will happen in January. "Hoping for the best and preparing for the worst" is my motto these days.

ETA: Right now it looks like Dems are on track to start the session with one more seat than they have currently. Either way, if a few people get plucked for the administration there will be no margin of error for Republicans to fall back on for a least a couple of months.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I don’t even know how but I let my passport expire. My sister’s expires in a few months. Neither of us trust mailing passports in at this point - OK, I don’t - So I just made an emergency passport appointment next week and bought refundable tickets to Mexico that will be canceled immediately after we have our new passports in our hands

We are actually thinking about going to Mexico late January just to be the F out of here on inauguration day. May or may not happen. I have some leftover, but I’m not sure if I want to blow them.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

This morning's irritation: Companies that make their customer service people say things like "And whom do I have the pleasure of speaking with today?"

My entire team including normally remote people was here for the last three days, and it was very nice to meet everyone, and after three days of workshops and meetings and socializing, I never want to see people or leave my house ever again.

Oops, the Real ID talk just made me look up requirements in my state and I discovered my DL expired last month. Guess I'll be getting all that sorted out sooner rather than later.

Thrive to spite them

I'm hoping there are enough Republicans who hate him that he won't run against. Besides it's Florida. They should be a lock to get another Republican elected in a special session.

This morning M's sister was over and his mom tried to bait me into a fight with her. His sister is a big Trump supporter (even though all his policies end up hurting her) . His mom says "oh ,askye what do you think of Trump". I stuck to his plan for tariffs are bad. And his cabinet picks are awful.

And then M's sister was very despondent over the fact there are no good men in politics they are all corrupt cheater and commit sexual assault. I kept my mouth shut for the most part. But I did part with "Tim Walz seems like a stand up guy".

Let me know! an escape at that time sounds good to me.

But I did part with "Tim Walz seems like a stand up guy".

Seriously! The "they are all that way" argument makes me nuts.

Not at all surprised that Pam Bondi got the AG nod. She has been that guy's lap dog for years. She kept him from being prosecuted in Florida when she was AG here.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

there are no good men in politics

Gee if only there had been an alternative to electing a man this year oh well.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Hey, I recently read that at the end of October, the CDC changed their recommended age for a pneumonia vaccine -- it used to be 65, but they lowered the recommended age to 50. I'm getting my flu shot tomorrow and added the pneumonia vaccine, because god only knows what vaccines we'll have access to next year. And the pneumonia vaccine is a 10-year vaccine, so you don't need to worry about it again for a while.
