"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

One of ltc’s classmates told her today that Kamala Harris can’t be president because she only cares about her family. I told her that that classmate was an idiot. Probably not my best parenting moment, but whatever.

But accurate!

OK, just got my first trick-or-treaters. Super cute trio of Iron Man, Wednesday, and Maleficent. I'm terrible at guessing kids' ages but... younger than Stitch and ltc by a few years? Anyway. Cute.

ETA: And we're up to three rings and... nine kids? Couple of sports teams, and I don't remember the others. Some little dude was a Mario character... but not Mario. Wario? I'm bad at those.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Welp, our managing director sent out an email last night saying that we are under a hiring freeze, they are reviewing labor costs, early retirement offers will be made and "Further Workforce Adjustments" depending on Q4 performance. So, layoffs are in the air. The mood in the office today is not too fun. I feel like our department is already lean to even short handed so this is going to be rough on everybody.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Finally got my car out of the BWI parking garage( it took 4 calls to AAA to get the correct tow truck) and down to the dealer. I now have 2 copies of my car key. They also did my regular maintenance, since my car was due for it. Came home to find my replacement driver’s license in today’s mail.

Now I just need to get a replacement work badge and I’ll be set for day to day stuff.

Glad you were able to get all that taken care of, Sheryl

Still need to get a new pair of glasses, and a replacement passport.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Oh lord -- at the rate I go, it would be years before I got everything replaced.

Oof, I'm sorry to hear that -t. Good vibes your way.

Glad things are getting sorted, Sheryl.

That was it for trick-or-treaters. Ah, well.

No trick-or-treaters here, I think I got back from the movies too late for any that might have stopped by. I'm guessing not too many other people took their 85-year-old mother to see Smile 2 for the holiday, but that's the way we roll.

Ha! That's awesome. Hope it was appropriately scary for the holiday.
