And I myself will be wearing pink taffeta as chenille would not go with my complexion.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I tried to get Matilda into 60s Addams Family but she'd been so thoroughly indoctrinated with the 90s movies that she rejected TV Wednesday outright.

I love the 90s movies so, so much but TV Wednesday is pretty great. I adore Bianca the siren.

I bought a bunch of Halloween themed stuff and am making cookies and going to ice them, I think. I don’t want any, because I took my second zepbound shot yesterday, but I do want to make them!!

Went to the dance last night. The girl I made out with was there. First I thought she was with this other girl, who reminded me of someone I briefly knew like eight years ago, that two of my friends were battling for (who then moved out of town and I hadn’t seen since) Then I was with an acquaintance and her friends and turned out one of her friends had made out with that girl, the month before. And then she turned out to BE the woman from 8 years ago—she’d moved out of town but then moved back.

Sadly I did not get to make out with the hot girl again, she was busy macking on someone else (and hadn’t, say, messaged to ask if I’d be there or anything). Did, after reminiscing about the good old debaucherous parties of yore, ask friend of friend to make out, but it was a mistake, it was not good at all. Bummer. But I had a really good time nonetheless with new friends and old.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

A humble gif reaction to an annual self assessment process at work that, for reasons that are beyond me, kept last year's wording. Here's what I didn't put as answers in that damn form:

Take the time to reflect on the past year [link]

What were the most significant obstacles you faced this year? [link]

If you'll encounter similar challenges again, what would you do differently? [link]

How would you rate your overall performance this year? [link]

Thrive to spite them

Happy birthday Matt, Cashmere, and Megan walker

mabelle - gum (,for when the plane takes off), hand sanitizer, wet wipes, Tide pen are the only thongs I can think of to suggest. Maybe a small bag to stash dirty clothes in.

1960s Addams Family is the best. I have a coffee table book of Charles Addams' cartoons I need to dig out and enjoy for the spooky season.

I couldn't get into Wednesday. I don't have Netflix right now but I will try it again sometime.

One of the Team Leads, Stephanie, s an amazing baker. She made red velvet cake for someone's birthday at work (well his girlfriend arranged it as a surprise). She makes her own butter! And she has chickens so she uses fresh eggs. I always forget her baked goods aren't that sweet . Just sweet enough. Normally for me it's hard to taste the cocoa in red velvet cakes, they just taste sweet , but I could really taste it in hers.

I kind of want to ask her how much she'd charge for a German chocolate cake.

Once again it's my day off and I was wide awake at 6 am. On days I work I'm struggling to wake up on time...why does my body do that?

Oof, I woke up super cranky this morning. Only fell asleep at 5a because I slept so much yesterday from what I'm calling vaccine fatigue. But I have breathed and showered and apologized to DH for my untargeted rage vibe this morning, which, even though he was not directly on the receiving end, could not have been pleasant. He was very gracious about it. Points to him.

Also, my dog rolled in something yesterday, and DH showered her right away, but the smell lingered on the bathroom to a surprising extent this morning -- could not get the window open and the lavender shower melt going fast enough. Glad the dog herself doesn't reek anymore, wow.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Of the Inside Out 2 characters, I have been assigned Ennui.

I haven't seen Inside Out 1 or 2 so I have no idea what this actually entails, but I am imagining a beret and a cigarette

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

We watched the entirety of the 60s Addams Family as a family and ltc loved it. There was surprisingly few instances of racism or sexism for a show made in the 60s that required any kind of explanation.
