Been doing a round of corporate training today after just doing a round a couple weeks ago. This time is is privacy and the last one was ethics. It did get me thinking what like a Weyland-Yutani ethics training must be like.
You have been informed that the wreck of a starship of unknown origin has been discovered near the site of a company colony. However, it has also been discovered that the starship contains exceptionally lethal biological organisms. What action should you take?
A. Notify government authorities and provide full details of the potential danger, while warning colonists of the danger and instructing them to avoid the site.
B. Warn colonists of the danger and instruct them to avoid the site until a team of company specialists can be dispatched to handle the situation.
C. Instruct colonists to investigate the site, but give them full details of the potential danger and advise extreme caution.
D. Instruct colonists to investigate the site without providing any warning of the potential danger.
A.
That answer is incorrect. Also, you are fired.
If only that were not so close to many actual corporations right now.
Ugh I tried to go see the lights—grabbed a friend, went to the beach, stayed up past my bedtime, but no dice. Multiple people were there with cameras, we were not the only ones with that idea, but after about 30-45 minutes of cold and nothing we gave up. So jealous of all the amazing photos people got and yet somehow while being way north of most of them, nothing.
RIGHT??? I saw pictures from within a drive of us, but did we see squat when we went in search? No.
Man, people all over the greater Cincinnati area posted amazing pictures of the aurora borealis, but we are just too close to Downtown's light pollution to really get much. And we just weren't up for driving around.
I went outside a few times to see if I could see the lights, but I couldn't see anything. There's not too much light pollution here, but I also didn't feel like driving to somewhere darker or waiting. My cousin in New Hampshire posted some gorgeous photos.
Sending you so much love, Epic.
Strongest of healing spells coming your way Epic. Every good thought for the right solution and deep relief.
In me news: It's really weird not being remotely as involved with the election as I have been for the last 30 years.
The one thing I have done is to get a few women-issues oriented postcards from an IG influencer I respect. The problem is, they did not come with a list, and my circles are so curated that I don't have anyone to send them to.
With the mass mailings I've done before, there was a list!
If _you_ have some likely receivers in mind, please email me their address. No names necessary (Dear Voter will do). I'll send them out today!
PS: I have three available.
I’m sure it would’ve been awesome to go out and see the lights but these past couple days I’ve just not had the energy for much of anything. Rough few days at work and otherwise and just generalized anxiety I think I missed a couple of days of my antidepressant this week Which I’m usually really diligent about Time to do better
Presumably his Indian-American wife and kids still live there. I have to wonder about the state of his marriage.
Everything suggests she’s made her choice and is good with it so I wouldn’t waste any sympathy on Usha. Hopefully, they’ve got enough sense to protect their kids but I wouldn’t bet on it
There will be more solar storms to enjoy the lights. Sorry it has been a rough week, Brenda.
