I don't give a good gorram about relevant, Wash. Or objective. And I ain't so afraid of losing something that I ain't gonna try to have it. You and I would make one beautiful baby. And I want to meet that child one day. Period.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh that truly sucks, David! I’m sorry this is costing her so dearly.

That is DH’s main focus as coach. He gets updated grades on all his players consistently and they have “study hall” prior to practice to go over things or arrange tutoring before it gets bad.

I’m in Jamaica so I have cell service again. Whee! I forgot how smoky it is here.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

She's okay this morning. It's disappointing but she's already shifting focus to finishing her ceramics projects and prom and the Memorial and graduation.

She'd rather be playing baseball, but this does free up four days a week for her. She's just really ready to be done with high school.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

That puts the team down to 8 players and they have to forfeit the end of the season. Which also means she doesn't get Senior Night where they honor graduating seniors.

Oh, that is so unfair to Matilda and the other remaining players! What a huge disappointment.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

M's baseball journey has been such a joy to witness, it's so disappointing of the universe to screw up the end

Nice moment this morning - when I got on the bus that I ride for 1 stop to get to work from the transit center the driver complimented my top and asked where I got it, and when we got to my stop asked if she could take a picture so she could have her daughter look for it in stores near her. I don't think I've ever had that happen before, it was neat. It's very bright colors. would make a good caftan.

Awww! That's fun. And I'm sure you gave them the brilliant minus-t smile.

I’m sure she is! I’m looking forward to the adventures that await her.

That is a great way to start the day -t

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Fun times at work today. I got to take a field trip. We (local government) have become holders of an empty department store space in a declining mall. We were looking at holding a large department training event there and I was part of the inspection group. Man! All my dystopian post—apocalyptic abandoned space dreams.

I really hate that the space is not being already converted into an intake and service facility for social service or into indoor rec space for youth or seniors or trades training space for a community college.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

There was a post on a DC blog (Popville) that the Secretary of Transportation (Pete ... however you spell his last name) got the full MetroBus experience, traveling with two small children.

So cool!

Met with Erika, the interior decorator. We'll be starting with a window treatment for the curved windows, and sourcing ironwork that needs to replaced outside.

She gave me a big reality check on whether we could occupy the interior Cupola space. She used phrases like "sistering the joists" and "load bearing" and "shear" indicating that any messing with the structure might require going inside the walls and putting in steel to support it.

That's not what I want to do. Also, as you would imagine, that's not so much decorating as construction, and gets very expensive. I really don't want to mess with the bones of the place.

We'll have a structural engineer over to examine the space and let us know what's possible. "We're in the feasibility study portion of the project" she said.

Also, you all need to remind me that a wasp was building a nest in the attic and I need to take care of that before it gets going.

Don't let me forget!

Pester me until I go after it with Raid!
