Thrive to spite them

I thought we would have power today because the crews are working on our road (well down a few blocks) but there is a lot of damage so tomorrow.

There is a lot of misinformation about the storm systems and people still think another hurricane will hit . It won't.

Our normally asshole neighbor was nice to me..first he complained about other cyclists who don't follow the rules of the road when I was bitching.

I hope as telling him about the info I have seen on surrounding areas and what I know about the storms and he said "you should have been in Intelligence". He is former Coast Guard ...MP or Intelligence he has said both at different times. Of course he also said he was "basically running things during Katrina" which I didn't say I doubted him to his face about that so go team me for being tactful

I have surprisingly adapted well to our new circumstances and while I want to get power if it's not until Friday I think I'll be ok.

Punishingly Intricate

You’ve been on my mind, Shir. Thanks for checking in.

Shir!! Glad you’re ok, don’t feel guilty one bit.

Askye glad you’re supposed to get power tomorrow at least! I sure hope another hurricane doesn’t come through and further mess everywhere up. Yikes.

Shir, good to see you, and you've been in my thoughts, of course

Askye -- you are a trooper.

Health and recovery ~ma to you, Toddson.

Our wings are not tired.

Thank you for checking in, Shir. We know you are overwhelmed. Know we are holding you in our hearts in this mess. Stay safe.

There is a lot of misinformation about the storm systems and people still think another hurricane will hit . It won't.

Still sending power~ma. My sister said our whacko SIL told her she needed to get her shutters put up because another storm was coming. She replied that all that was out there now were fish storms, but called me to check if she was missing something. There are regular messy summer storms out there, but not hurricanes.

Sending recovery thoughts for Todd.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Thanks all. Updating that Nilly and her family are safe too.

Compassionately intolerant

Oh, Shir. I'm so glad to see your pixels. Blessings for peace and personal security winging your way.

Todd is strong. She'll get through this, much like last time!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Thank you for checking in, Shir. We know you are overwhelmed. Know we are holding you in our hearts in this mess. Stay safe.

What Laura said.

I'm glad you were able to check in and know there's a lot of love for you.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

So the thing is that I'm not overwhelmed specifically by this attack. It's normalized to the point where 2-3 hours after the fact it's ancient history. The terror attack in Jaffa, slightly before the Iranian attack, is scarier (7 dead). The only casutly we know of from tonight's Iranian attack - I swear I'm not making this up, this is just unbelievable script - is a Gazan who was in the West Bank and was hit by one of the rockets.

Very, very tired and sad from this war and wishing for its end and peace, but not overwhelmed.
