Cereal: Beekaytee, I'm so sorry to hear about Toddson. Thank you for helping her. I don't have any connections beyond recommending doing what you probably already have done, which is to do some googling to find local attorneys who can help. Durable POA isn't too expensive to set up, and I'm sure those of us who are able would contribute to help pay for it.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Absolutely.

Cheers, Laura, Pix and Steph. I will figure something out. The case worker may have ideas and, at the very least, I can check with the Legal Services for the Elderly, through AARP for her.

I have grown older, but not up.

beekaytee, I am not at all sure I understand what it is that you and Toddson need, but if it helps, I used www.rocketlawyer.com and their online templates to prepare my will and PoA documents. It was pretty simple and straightforward. My local bank branch provided the notary services, and I was done.

Thrive to spite them

I'm sorry to hear about Toddson.

Work was slower today. Other places are opening up. I'm so glad we didn't have to deal with a store being without power and closed for multiple days with meat and dairy sitting out. At least it's not August.

I have today and tomorrow off. Yay.

I heard from Mom. Apparently I woke my neighbor up when I was outside talking to her. He came over with some ice to ask that I keep it down. He wasnt home but I left a note on his door apologizing and explaining what happened.

Mom is good. I got to hear her voice.

We did not clean out our fridge or freezer because we didn't expect to be out of power until it was too late. Our trash pick up is Monday and should be picked up tomorrow. I hope. Our trash can is full from a bunch of stuff so we are going to throw out more after it's empty..

Power is expected to be back for us Friday.

Tomorrow I plan to wash out the tub and then wash some clothes and figure out where to hang them out to hopefully dry. I am running low on shirts and underwewr. I think the laundry mat has power but not sure and I can do this at home so why not.

Will give me something to do.

Thanks for the suggestion, dcp. And, I understand the confusion. I think I can reach out to the AARP legal services for the elderly. I don't know if Todd is a member, but it's worth a try.

There are some complications that make the DIY forms option less useful than they would be otherwise, but worse comes to worst, we will go that way.

M's brother has power. His cousin who was stuck at our house is back at hers and she has power. Mom has power

Mom said if it had been safe we could have come up there to do laundry and have a hot shower. She's the only one who has offered

We are projected to have power back on Friday. But who knows. M"s brother doesn't come over like his cousin does but damn...you would think they'd at least offer to let us hang out in the afternoon and charge our phones.

Our wings are not tired.

Sending power~ma. The extent of the outages is considerable. Death toll continues to go up.

Thinking of our Israeli loved ones again today. Looks like a ground invasion of Lebanon is immanent.
