Waves weakly from Otter Lake. I've been in Covid brain fog all week so reading or focusing hasn't been fun. I've been banished to my upstairs bedroom to keep away from Brendon. Maybe he has escaped it. I want him to test today. I am feeling better and slept well last night. Sending love and ~ma as needed.
eta: I wasn't super sick, no fever, just a snot factory with coughing and serious brain fog. It is the height of unfairness to not be able to read when sick in bed, but it was just words that weren't sinking in. The last couple days I was able to read again which is glorious.
Ooh, is it time to share my favorite brassica meme again?
MD RenFest!!
I've come to love the NY Faire, but after 20 years I still quote the Reduced Shakespeare Company at the drop of a hat.
My excitement so ar today is that I got to add a grey tufted titmouse to my life list. I'm glad I finally started filling the bird feeder again. They were quick to come back, those tiny, flying dinosaurs.
My 35th high school reunion is tonight, and I am NOT going, because I've seen the RSVP list on the evite, and 99% of them are not a group of people I care to be around, even for an evening. But one of my high school BFFs is going to be in town (because she is going to the reunion), so we're having dinner today with our other high school BFF (who is also going to the reunion). Dinner will be great, because I can catch up with them without having to go to the Real Housewives of Cincinnati shindig.
And then next week I'm going to Colorado for a very long weekend with my college roommates, with one day with my brother tacked on the end. So between this weekend and the Colorado trip, I will be strolling down memory lane for about 10 days.
I feel the same way about my high school reunions. Not many people participate, and the ones that do I don't have any strong feelings about.
The fact that the reunion is happening does make me want to re-watch Grosse Pointe Blank, though.
Looking at linoleum makes me want to watch GPB.
I wrote a pandemic-update fanfic of it...it took years, but people have caught up with me about it.(Much like almost everything about me since high school, actually. )
Wow found out my cousin (who’s only 40 and has 3 small kids!) had a stroke on the golf course! Apparently he was in the icu but they just moved him to less critical. So scary. He’s a pilot so this might kill his career, too. Yikes.
That is worrisome. Recovery~ma to your cousin, meara.
Speaking of slutty veg (because why wouldn’t we), I understand the cucurbits (squash family) will cross pollinate like whoa. Which is probably ok when your butternuts mix with your acorn squash, but when they get it on with melons, things can get weird.
