no moose sightings yet despite all the signs that claim they may be crossing.
Are you near Rangeley Lakes or the Carabasset Valley? They roam more in Winter. We spend our whole summer in mid-coast Maine these days, but "vacation" on the interior lakes. The moose are not friendly, so you don't really want to see one.
Greetings, all. I have been a super lurker all over the internet because real life needed my attention. It may again as the kid goes back to high school on Monday with car pool needs. Husband and dog are staying in Maine for a couple more weeks, just because it's beautiful and they can.
Volunteering at the convention yesterday was super fun. I couldn’t hear much of the speeches so I’ll catch up on those. But I did get to watch John Legend, Stevie Wonder and Maren Whosit rehearsing.
The Minnesota delegation was out on the floor chanting and cheering for literally 30 minutes after the end. They were fired up!
ETA: I how to replace my birth certificate recently, and it was super easy. All online these days and I got it in like two weeks. (It would be faster if they didn’t have to dig *quite* so far into the archives.)

My people. Obviously.
Brenda, so cool!
Sparky! Hi!!
Does everybody know where their birth certificate is? And their passport? And all their other certifications? (Marriage license, death certificate, deed to your house?).
Hahahaha. It took me weeks to find old expired passports, then stumbled across my current one. I doing so realized my birth certificate was not in the file. Still haven’t found it. I’ve got all of Mac’s stuff though.
Brendon took a tumble down the stairs here at the Airbnb yesterday. He slipped on the carpet. The stairs are a bit narrow for his big feet. Anyway, he crumpled at an inappropriate angle for his leg at the bottom. We took our sweet time moving him and getting him to his feet. He bumped head, back, and legs. Mostly today his knee hurts. He did opt to go upstairs to sleep and managed the stairs last night and this morning. I found a Walmart 20 miles away and got him Ibuprofen, NSAID cream, ice packs, and an ace bandage for compression. He is currently snoozing with it elevated. He seems okay but I'll take him to the health clinic when we get back to Otter Lake. We head back tomorrow morning. It is a 7 hour drive with 4 adults and a large dog in my not so big car. We are going to have to stop often for him to extend his leg as it is impossible for him to straighten it in a car.
tl;dr Big guy boo boo, send the ~ma please
Other than that Maine is lovely and relaxing!
Oh, poor guy! Sitting in a car with an injured leg sounds like a recipe for more pain. Not so bad ~ma his way
Aw, man. All kinds of ~ma.

We are in Stoneham which is fairly close to New Hampshire border mid state. Nothing close to us really except lots of lakes and mountains. Very pretty. The kids went to an open mic thing at the local pub last night and people were walking up and introducing themselves and super friendly.
I'm hoping that it is clear tonight because there are no population lights at all and the stars should be amazing.
Brenda, I am super jealous of you being at the convention! It looks incredible. The number of people crammed together with no masks still kinda makes me tremble though.
