I'm super light-sensitive when falling asleep, so that could make a difference to me! Mostly I just use a washcloth as a eyecover, though, but I have to have my nostrils unimpeded. It's really not neurotic, it's a physical requirement. sigh

Boy, it's something to watch some of Trump's press conference from yesterday and then watch Walz and Harris speak. It's not even the insane lies and rambling. So far Debby is being EXTREMELY WINDY and humid but not much rain. The wind is kicking around the trees to the point where my power keeps flickering, so really hoping we don't have an outage.

No idea about hot dishes, being originally from the south (first rule - if it doesn't move, fry it). Also being inundated by Debby - had to come in to work and got soaked to the skin (literally - bra and underpants soggy, shoes soaked). Had some dry things at work I could put on, but still not comfortable.

Church hot dishes in my neck of the woods (west Texas) generally had crushed potato chips on them. Mind you, that was 50+ years ago.
