Ugh, cold oatmeal.

I'm sitting outside with a giant fan blowing on me enjoying the air before it gets stupid hot later today. I'm very proud of myself — I worked my ass off in July and, last night, I finished the online async course I took on as summer work. That means I have the rest of this week and part of next week as vacation time! My first day back is the 16th.

When I woke up this morning, I was completely confused about where I was. I'm having a little trouble with re-entry!

I also have a sore, scratchy throat and stuffed-up head. I should take a Covid test to be on the safe side, but I suspect it's just random ick.

And my eye shingles have resolved for now.

Hooray no no eye shingles!!

I changed M's bandaged toe. I wasn't sure if I would but I got it all off without hurting him and then got all the layers back on. ... although not as nice as the doctor did it. ( He has a hemostat bandage, non stick bandage, gauze, extra tape for stability). It was still seeping but no where near like the other day.

Back several years ago I freaked out because it looked like my right second toenail had a weird line at the base. Turns out some how the nail had become detected and then it started hurting really bad because the new nail was growing underneath. When I got the old nail off there was a dip on the nail where the new growth hadn't been able to grow. That stayed weird. Then when I busted my little toe the nail finally grew back in 2 separate parts but now it's one. However it has a weird angle on it.

Covid test was negative, so it's just nonspecified ick.

Also, I discovered last night that Yasso Greek yogurt bars are really good and only 100-150 calories (depending on which one you get). They may be my new summer go-to when I have a sweet tooth.

Seriously! An encouraging sign for me was my son's reaction. I NEVER talk politics with him because of battles we had when he was a fierce BernieBro. I knew he couldn't stand either Trump or Biden. (of course, he knows where I stand) Anyway, out of nowhere when we were discussing work stuff, he says that he can't wait to see Walz wipe the floor with Vance in a debate. Then he says guy is awesome. What!?! That to me is a good sign.
