One of the girls she has beef with officially Reported Matilda for "Unnecessary Eye Contact." This occurred in the bathroom while they were changing stalls. Matilda had to see the Principal, and they both laughed about it.
There are times when the southernism "Bless her heart" is pretty much the only response.
sj, personally, I don't know which is worse:
Not getting help when you could use it.
Or someone offering something you don't really need and expecting to be treated like Citizen of The Year.
For me, it's a toss-up.
Sending all the ~ma, smonster. You would be a real asset to the organization.
Job~ma, smonster!
sj, I am extra side-eying those parents because I have to assume at least some of them are the parents of ltc's teammates, you would think they would want to show some team parent solidarity or community or whatever
Aw for the number retirement. That's so cool!
I have to report that I got sushi and tempura for lunch that came with miso soup, which I had first. I just absent-mindedly drank the dipping sauce for the tempura. Before eating hardly any of the tempura, even. I don't who decided to let me out among the humans on my own, but they should maybe rethink that.

Yes! I love that!

Was it...good, as a beverage?
Having her number retired will be something she will always remember. That is delightful.

A bit salty, but not terrible. I can't say I recommend it as a better method of consumption.

She literally saved the baseball program last year when she joined the team (at the captain's request) so they could field nine players and have a season. At no small sacrifice, as she had to learn how to throw and hit a baseball (quite different from softball), change positions from catcher to second, and be one of the only girls on an all boy's team. And then co-captained this season, as the only girl and one of only two seniors, which was going successfully until her teammates failed to do their homework. She showed a lot of leadership on the team too. Vocally encouraging, but also calling players to task at failed fundamentals.
I'm really proud of her.
She's been struggling lately.
The Memorial is bringing up a lot of heavy emotions for her, whereas for me I'm more focused on celebrating Jacqueline's life and sharing her story and seeing beloved faces.
SJ there’s a part of me sincerely hoping that they were attempting to not offer ableist unsolicited help, and overcompensated. But that’s mostly rose tinted glasses, they were more likely just being oblivious. So sorry.
Awesome about the Jersey retirement. Sounds like M totally deserves all the recognition and awards. Including “most unnecessary excesssive eye contact”. Legit LOL. At least they didn’t accuse her of the evil eye?
Yall will appreciate this. My dude has his colonoscopy tomorrow so today is the big prep. Of course I asked about his planned diversions for the evening and he was planning on playing Civ as being the perfect “one more turn game”. Well, the drinking of the grossness hasn’t even commenced yet and he’s already over Civ for the day, apparently, so he started watching Buffy. He’s never seen Buffy before, totally missed out. He does love Firefly/Serenity so ive low key nudged a couple times. But tonight? On the one hand, im thrilled that he’s immersing in the lore. On the other hand, this is literally the worst day to associate with season 1!!!
