"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Happy birthday, Karl!

Gud, what everyone said.

Greetings from Seattle!

Oh, crud! I failed to actually schedule anything with Shir when she's in Seattle!

Fear not! For there are almost no plans as of now for Seattle and I'll browse Google to see what's around. Remember how I had no time to plan anything between work and war? That is still the case. So I'll be working tomorrow, but feel free to ping me (number in profile) and we'll plan something!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I’m home from ltc’s softball game. TCG hasn’t been able to make it to the Monday games because of his work schedule. Meanwhile, this entire group of parents see a disabled mom and an 8 year old struggling with the equipment and chairs and such and not a single one offers to help.

I have a Shir in my house! My dog is pleased. He approves of additional people to pet him.

Our wings are not tired.

What the hell is wrong with people!?! Seriously, I will never understand. I do have to say I was relieved with how helpful people were on the cruise for my sisters. They were both in scooters and people let us go in elevators first, made way for us going in and out of shows. Generally, most people were decent humans.

I have a Shir in my house!

Yay! May there be many giggles, and doggo snuggles.

That's crappy, sj. I mean, like, you'd think they'd want to model how to be an engaged human for their kids, if nothing else! I mean, sure, everyone just wants to get home, but... damn. I guess they don't know how to do it, so they don't model it.

I bitch about other humans all the time, but I don't actually go through the world with blinders on most of the time. I give off the "don't bother me" vibe, but I still try to be generally helpful if I see something. Or, at least, that's what I aspire to.

It’s not like they are even rushing to leave they’re just standing around talking.

So much for that thought, then. Just, ugh!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

How exciting, smonster! All the -ma!

Just got off the phone with the school counselor, as I wanted to check in with her on a variety of end of school issues with Matilda.

Matilda is just so done with the teen girl drama. One of the girls she has beef with officially Reported Matilda for "Unnecessary Eye Contact." This occurred in the bathroom while they were changing stalls.

Matilda had to see the Principal, and they both laughed about it. But the microagressions are a pile of suck.

eta: I told the counselor that Matilda was going to miss May 17th, the day before the Memorial. She noted that they have Awards Assembly that day and Matilda would want to be in attendance just for that part.

Also, Matilda's baseball coach said he was retiring her number.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I am so glad not to have to be a teenager ever again. It's like being one large exposed nerve.
